| | Back in the saddle again | | Here we are now 3 days later and the ladies are looking much, much better. The heat is not much of an issue anymore, the fans are blowing air all over the place, thickening up the stems, giving my babies some fresh air...yeeeeeah.
I picked up a pH meter as well a few days ago and did some investigating. What I found was that the water I was using had a pH level of 8.1. Yes, isn't that graaaaaand. So I picked up a bottle of pH down and handled the problem. My plants are loving me more and more every day
I also cut out a hole in the floor of the cab and installed a grill intake with filter, just like the ones in apartment a/c's. What this is doing for me is centralizing the air intake to one entry which i am able to clean with a filter (which is very easily changeable) I am very excited about having the intake on the floor because I feel that is the best way to bring fresh air in as it will be pulled up through the plants, passing over them as it is carried up...I dunno if it makes sense...just helps me sleep better.
So I just got done watering, gave them the first dose of nutes. Medium strength Fox Farm Grow Big pH'd at 6.3. I decided to wait until morning to take pictures of the progress seeing as how I think tonight could be a big night for them
So stay tuned for the update. Pictures coming tomorrow of the progress thus far. Happy growing peoples. - Bears |

| | 18 Days From Seed | | For the past few days my digital camera and my computer have been fighting, so no pictures. I guess they finally settled their differences tonight as everything is working well.
Got some more pictures here for your viewing pleasure. These plants have already been through a lot, and we have just been patiently waiting for them to come around. All in all they do look pretty decent, much better than when we got started.
One problem we do seem to notice though is that two of the plants are doing this weird leaf curl under thing. We did some research but were unable to find much information. Let us know if you got any ideas please?! So far this is our strongest, most vigorously growing plant of the lot. Very bushy, short, squat, and putting out leaves all over the place This is an "up the skirt shot" of the same lady. Currently the only plant growing foliage down there. This one here is the poor little feller with the curly q leaves . Any ideas peoples?
Hope you enjoy the update, and please let us know if you have any ideas on what we might be suffering from here. Thanks peoples, and happy growing. - Bears |

| | After posting a thread in the "Help my dying plant!?!?" forum, I decided that it is quite possible I am not watering these little critters enough, also...maaaaaybe I need to move the light up a bit more? Eh? Well I tried it tonight. The light is up another 10 inches and they all got a big healthy watering at a pH of 6.0. If they take well to this I think I may begin a veg nute regiment for them soon.
I tossed one of my sweet basil seedlings into the cabinet with them to help keep them company

| | My last post didn't take. I just came back to check on my thread here and noticed my most recent post is nowhere to be found. SO, let's try this again shall we
If i remember correctly I said something about how I have taken them from 24/0 to 18/6. Also I did some transpotting since the last post. The little pots they were in just weren't cutting it.
I am becoming more and more convinced that I got a shady batch of seeds. All of the plants are so extremely different from each other and 3 of them prefer to grow even numbered leaf sets (friggin weird)
Two of them however are looking pretty damn swell and I am hoping at least one of them is female so that I can hang onto this Hindu Kush family line.
Anyways, pictures are below...finally got some decent ones. Enjoy, and thanks for checkin us out.
All of the large plants in green pots are 26 days from the drop of the seed into the peat pot. The two smaller ones are at 18 days. - Bears |

| | Time for another update, but sadly no plant pics this time. For the past 3 days they have all been on an 18/6 light schedule but this morning when the lights went off at 8:00, we started flowering.
The plants are really a lot smaller than we wanted to flower them at but they are in a healthy growth stage right now so I know they will explode over the next few weeks, we might even end up not losing out on lost veg time.
Plus the name of the game now is clone the future mothers, and I can't really do that until they do explode and show me some sexy hairs. Yesterday I decided to built an aero tub for after these soil babies are done flowering. If it all goes well we will more than likely stick to aero. I love the idea of soil, and the finished product, but there are too many things about our situation that force us to seek alternative methods. Plus, you can't really beat a 12 day veg cycle after the clone is rooted. Daaamn.
Ok so all we have today is some pictures of the aero tub. I have not decided whether to grow 4 decent sized plants in this thing or more like 8 lollipopped shorties...but i still have time to decide on that. Any suggestions?
About the tub ::
26 gallon tote
1/2 inch pvc tubing
500 gph pond pump
360 degree jet spray tips
I was worried about these tips not putting out enough water, and not getting it high enough but i took these pictures after running the tub, with lid on, for about 20 seconds...and then waiting for a few minutes. There was still nice drops and fine mist over a good part of the inside, so I feel pretty good about this. I have a bunch of left over nozzles so if I decide to go with the 8 lollipop plants I will toss another 4 or so in there. The nozzles are rated to put out 10-14gph so i imagine i could have at least 15 without affecting water pressure or nozzle output. Lucky for me I only need 8 or so max so im super safe
Ok finally the pictures dammit. - Bears | | Tags: 400w, cab, cabinet, first grow, fox farm, hindu, hps, kush, organic, soil, stealth | | Tags | 400w, bears, cab, cabinet, first grow, fox farm, hindu, hps, kush, organic, soil, stealth | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
