4 Bubba Kush, 1 midgrade, all in dirt but 1, 400 watt MH, First time grower
It's a little late to start up a journal for my mids, but really, I just want to use them to experiment with while I medicate with the Kush and other premium strands. I've basically put in about a semester and a half's worth of study into cultivating mary j, and now I feel like I'm ready to give it a shot. Feel free to leave your comments and any advice you might have in this thread. I'm growing 1 mids plant, 3 bubba kush plants in dirt, and 1 bubba kush in a grodan block growing for a DWC (yet to come). Here is my list of equipment:
-1 400 watt metal halide gym light
-1 24" circular fan
-1 9" table fan
-table (obviously)
-timer (obviously)
Nutes:
-GH FloraGro (G)
-GH FloraMicro (M)
-GH FloraBloom (B)
Water/feeding:
From seed to seedling they are fed bottled water, from seedling to veg they are fed bottled water with 1/4 tsp. of G, M, and B per gallon. At veg they are fed hard well water with 3 tsp. (G), 2 tsp. (M), 1 tsp. (B). Late veg they are fed hard well water with 2 tsp. (G), 2 tsp. (M), 2 tsp. (B). At bloom stage they are fed hard well water with 1 tsp. (G), 2 tsp. (M), 3 tsp. (B). I will be using a 'feed, water, water' rhythm.
Grow Room:
The grow room is a closet in a garage. There is a crawlspace that is under the table, and a crack under the door substantial enough to draw in enough fresh air IMO. I figure the crawlspace will prove useful as an exhaust space for the air (it's big enough to). I placed the bigger fan underneath the table to oscillate air, and draw air in from underneath the door. The desk fan is blowing on low slightly behind the plants to circulate air around them.
-The mids plant gets about 3/4 gallon of water when the soil is dry (this is how much I can pour into the pot without it dripping out of the bottom). The seedlings usually get about half a bottle of water at feeding time.
-The soil I'm using is Fox Farm "Ocean Forest". I like it so far.
Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated, but I do have a few targetable questions:
It feels quite damp in my grow room, is this ok, should there be something done to dehumidify it, if so what can be a cheap, preferably home made way?
My dumb ass set the lights to go off at 8pm, class is over at 8:30. Is there a way I can adjust the light cycle, or am I locked into working in darkness?
When it comes to nutes, are they very touchy in terms of the ratio, if it's off by a ml, are there going to be severe consequences?
Is it ok to leave my nutes in the light, will it break them down.
-Some Notes
-The green planter pot in the bottom right hand corner is a green crack seed that's kind of in an 'ICU' state.
I haven't put a thermometer in there yet, I know I need to. It feels alright under the light though.
Thanks for all the help you're willing to give!! Keep Tokin'

I'll also say this: This is my first time posting in such a forum; So, please forgive me for any improper actions. I'm not the kind of person to bump threads so I'll do this once, unless advised to do so by someone with a little more forum experience than I. Rest assured, I'm of the legal age. I just never got into forums and the idea of receiving help from others.

Your not flowering so, the light cycle isn't that tempermental, as long as your not dropping down to 12 hours your fine, (even that's ok with a half hour of light in the middle of your night cycle). The ml of nutes isn't that important, but the ppm reading and ph is. If you can afford it, get a nice ph and ppm meter to take readings with, if you can't afford an expensive one, get a 14 dollar meter off of E-bay, and some calibration solution. The biggest issue with the cheap one is how often it de-calibrates, also whichever meter you get, keep water in the cap, so the sensor doesn't dry out. A lot of people will tell you that your in soil and PH isn't that important, which to a degree they're correct, but it's a good talent to learn while starting out. The higher the concentrate the more an extra ml will make a difference, but in reality you need a ppm reader, so you can gradually increase the amount of nutes your feeding them. If you were running any nutes I had, I would give you the ppm per tablespoon, but I don't much from GH. Your goal is to push them with nute feedings, so start out small, and slowly work your way up. The Ph is important, because if you don't have the right ph your plants won't uptake all of the nutes. It doesn't make sense to you right now, but eventually you will totally get what people mean when they talk about reading plants.
Your plants all look pretty nice, I'm very interested in see what your GC does. I'll keep checking in to see how it's growing! 9

PS Humidity isn't an issue until after flowering begins, but buckets of Charcoal Briquettes help keep mold and mildew down. I'm not sure if they keep humidity down
