well two nut pods have popped and started dropping pollen. Here are some pics.

Anyone know when i should start cutting pods off and drying them?

Im guessing anytime this upcoming week, ill just try and spot ripeness.

im not surebut fdd and videoman had tutorials were they said you dry out the pollen for a few days in the window sill then store it in a film container and it last a few months for sure,i have some male pods on my female rhino and ice, they were waterd with ph of 3 for a few months which stressed them out,im trying to see if i can save some pollen to use,but they were at 7 weeks of flowering so it may be to late but it looks like they still have unopened pollen sacs, but not seeing them before im not sure, but i didnt want to risk seeding the healthy plants that never had the messed up ph,i want seeds just not a whole crop,im sure im going to have some i hope i do any way,but i hope you get an answer from someone with experience.

Ive read fdd's tutorial and will give him credit when i start to pollinate

Im sure storing in a cool dry dark place is the norm.

Dont know if storing pollen in the freezer is good or not

Some more nut pics. Ive picked quite a few off so within the next three days im thinking most pods will be ready. The ripe ones are easy to spot, they are swollen and you can see the bottoms starting to open.

Ill post a two week AK flower update soon, along with updated pics of the other strains in veg

Time for a 2.5 week update. Things aren't going as smooth as i had hoped. I left for a week with my girl in charge of the plants and the veg plants got overferted so they are lookin hurt.

I have 3 ak-48 females in flower for 2.5 weeks. They were overferted in there veg cycle in which i half flushed twice. They recovered nicely but now the fan leaves are lime green going on yellow. After the flushes i gave them a slight combo of bloom ferts 1/4 strength. Im guessing they are still overferted some which is causing the progressing yellowing. The buds on them though are progressing pretty well. I dont want to lose any more fan leaves though.I think i should just give them plain water for a while. Take a look at the pics. I also put another ak-48 female in the flower room a week ago, this one i fimmed and didn't overfert, and has a perfect dark green color all around. You can see the difference in the pics.

My white rino is my only other strain that has shown. I have two males and three females, which is great except there overferted.

The ganja dwarf, jock horror, and unknown are still coming along.

The first pics are the 4 ak's in flower

The last two are the strains in veg

Also, im using miracle grow organic soil combined with perlite and vermaculite.

My ferts are fox farm, grow big, big bloom and tiger bloom

The flower room is 400 hps, and veg rooms have 400 mh and 250 mh

Week 4 flowering update

The AK48 buds are forming well and actually better than i thought, considering they are still suffering from an overfert problem.

I flushed them a couple days ago and has seemed to slightly slow the yellowing and dying spots on the fan leaves. Those that are left that is.

Despite the overfert problem the buds have shown no signs of slowing down.

The other ak48 i saved from overferting and fimmed. It seems the ones I fimm halt the overferting. Notice the color compared to the others. The buds are slowly forming on the many tops.

Ive also just pollinated two of the three females with the pollen i collected earlier.

I used fdd's pollinating method with paint brushes. Took a brush and swirled it in the bottle to crush any unopen pods and rubbed the brush into the buds of some of the lower branches.

I used the pollen of two ak48 males. One type for each plant. One bottle of pollen was whitish and had to look close for it on the brush. The other bottle from the other male was a nice yellow and covered the brush. Hopefully they both will take.

Also i used two different brushes for each plant and change of pollen, and threw them away afterwards. Took the females into the bathroom to pollinate left them in there a little while and removed any loose pollen.

Sorry the pics are not clearer.
