Hello everyone,

I'm 16 days into my first grow ever and things seems to be going pretty good. I purchased an Aerogarden about a month ago with the intentions of growing a few plants indoors. I planted my bag seeds 16 days ago in the AG without germinating, 7 out of 7 sprouted. I won a large sum of $$$ in an online poker tournament a few days into my AG project and that brought on a few upgrades.

I now have a 3x3 tray above a 20-gallon reservoir (trust me if I was a single man it would be much, much bigger). A Hydrofarm 400 watt hps, air cooled light. The room is Co2 enriched using a Co2 “Boost Bucket”. I got a digital PH meter and a digital ppm meter. Many people told me Flora Nova nutes were good stuff so that's what I went with. I was able to run the carbon filtered exhaust through the existing hole from my ceiling fan so not needing to get out the jigsaw kept the wife happy. Since I placed it in the corner of the room, the two sides against the wall were easy to cover with mylar. I hung a panel from the ceiling covered in mylar to take care of one of the open sides, the other side will remain open for reservior access & air flow.

The 6 plants in the pics were started in the Aerogarden and transplanted to the rockwool after 10 days, they are 16 days old and will be on a 18/6 schedule for another 2 weeks or so. I have feminized White Widow seeds on the way so I'd like to get started with those ASAP!! (that is if they show up, I was told seed packages sometimes don't make it from Amsterdam). I’m hoping to get advice from people who know what they’re talking about and going by some of the journals I've seen, this site has many. I know the guy at my local hydro supply store is getting really sick of my questions…just not my $$$. Plus, I really doubt he would discuss the proper harvesting, flushing & curing processes with me. Day 17 and they still seem to be doing good. I was picking up some cloning supplies today and decided to get a 20lb Co2 bottle set-up (see pic). I took a pic of the way I set up the distribution tube on top of my light. Sorry the pics are so blurry, It's time for a camera upgade.

Your using the Aerogarden, htat is amazing. I saw that and i knew someone would try it out.

They are looking good, i will watch this

I started them in the Aerogarden but I'm not using it anymore. It was working great when I had them in there, they sprouted in only two days but I switched over to a full hydro set-up.

i would move that ballast away from the tray. just in case.

good call...I moved it a couple feet back from the tray and lifted it about 10 inches off the ground

Day 18 - They all seem healthy but...my feminized White Widow seeds are at the post office waiting for me and I'm picking them up in the morning on my way to work. So unfortunately this journal is probably going to end early so I can get started with the good stuff. The stuff I have growing now is just some bag seed and I would find it very hard to spend almost 3 more months growing this when I have something that could turn out excellent for my first grow just waiting to be planted.

I'm going to keep the plants I have growing now in the rockwool until I see the new seeds sprouted and ready to go, I've heard stories about only 2 of 10 expensive ass seeds sprouting. That wouldn't be cool at all. They did give me 5 free thai stick seeds...whatever that is

Whoo Hoo!!! I got my widow seeds..so hopefully I'll have 6, maybe 8 healthy girls growing here shortly. I haven"t decided how many I'm gonna grow in my 3x3 tray, if I can fit 8 I will...Someone please advise!!

theres always a way to make things fit in this business. good call on moving ballast away from water area. my cuzins ebb n flow system overflowed and ruined his carpet. glad i caught that .
