Ok, so heres my deal: I have no idea what I'm doing. Right now I have one sprout going in a jar under 3 CFLs, I have a seed in a can next to it, but it's been awhile and I'm not sure if it's going to sprout or not, and I have 5 seeds sitting in some paper towel that I'm hoping will crack. The extent of my equiptment right now is a spider lamp and 3 CFL bulbs. I don't know what I'm doing.

I'm taking this from the standpoint of, it's a weed, how hard can this be? (I've already done enough reading through this website to know how stupid of a statement that is)

I'm starting the journal for a few reasons, I know there are people out there in my position, hopefully this will help you. Second, I think it'd be really helpful to keep a grow journal to help me keep track of everything. And third, I was hoping a few of you would be nice enough to tell me that I'm being an idiot from time to time and tell me how to keep my girls alive.




Before I go smoke a bowl and then call it a night, here's a summary of things so far:

I have one plant (esmeralda), she sprouted about 2 weeks ago. I don't know exactly when, I'm estimating 2/15/08. She stands about 3 inches tall. I'll be posting some pics tomorrow once I figure out how. She is currently sitting on a shelf in my closet under 3 CFLs. Next to her is a can that has a seed that cracked, but doesn't seem to want to sprout. And then on the table in front of me is a plate that has a folded over piece of wet paper towel with 5 seeds that have been in there about 20 minutes.

That's it for right now, I'm going to try to post reguarly. I welcome and appreciate anyone who wants to post advice, suggestions, and/or encouragement.

I'm not sure exactly how this works exactly. I've never uploaded a pic here before, so this will be a test. If it goes well, there will be more.

Well, that wasn't exactly what I wanted to happen. I'm going to do some investigating, once I figure out how to do it the way that I want, I'll upload the rest of them. In the mean time, that is a pic taken on 2/19 of the seed that crack, but still has yet to sprout.

I finished my homework earlier than I thought I would so I have some time to post some pix before I leave for class. These are all from 2/19. At this point I primarily had them just sitting on a widow sill and then at night I would put them under 1 30watt CFL. The first one is the one i posted earlier, its the cracked seed that still has yet to break through the soil. The other 2 are pics of Esmerelda. I can't remember exactly when she sprouted, I'm guessing that's about 4 days worth of growth in that pix. Anyone think otherwise?
