I dont really see any canoeing but do see a few rolled margins. By the looks of it those leaves are experiencing some heat stress. A hot spot under your lights. The margins curl due to the "GUARD CELLS" closing the "STOMA" to slow transpiration. This also can occur due to low humidity. But presents in much more of the plant. I just quoted and capped those words so you can research them yourself. Basic botanical and horticulural knowledge with almost always out weigh and out grow cannabis forum hype/myth/BS....

As far as soil compaction, a friend of mine used promix with no perlite and had serious soil compaction problems bought halfway through. He now uses foxfarm ocean floor with about 10-20% perlite mixed in and this has done well for him.

Im my grow listed in my sig, I have a 250w hps about 8" from my canopy with a fan blowing between the light and plants. I also have another fan blowing from underneath and through the canopy, and have had no issues with heat stress even though my cabinet temps are over 84 most days. I've got lots of pics in my grow journal showing my setup if your interested, but I agree your light should be no farther than 12" away from your canopy. Just have good ventilation and air movement and the heat shouldnt be an issue. GL subbed and +rep 4 ya

Soil compaction happens when you drive tractors across a field. And in container grows can happen if you fall into the flushing routine in which case its more of a settling thing with the same outcome. Otherwise in our pots it just dosent happen........

Right! My terms are incorrect, but I guess it seemed as he watered, the soil became more compact and wouldnt drain properly. The added perlite helped to keep the soil aerated and loose so I guess my only point would be that perlite helps.

when you water, does it drain down fast or does it sit like a puddle then drain?

when watered the water goes straight down pools for mb 1/2 second if that.

seems to have good drainage then. good luck with your grow. when do you have plans on flowering?

Hey man, Nice plants

From my experience here is how to prevent your soil from locking up, put a layer of non clump unscented cat liter on the top of your soil, it will help the water spread out and drain in the soil evenly which prevents the soil from compacting and clumping. Another thing you can do is add about a 2 inch layer or coco on your tops, both of these techniques will stop clumping AND prevent evaporation so you lose less water into the air, which can help with humidity indoors if your having any problems.
