Default Small Legal Medical Garden Dairy Queen, Sour Kush, Ace of spades and JTR for starters

**Strains: Dairy Queen, Ace Of Spades, Jack The Ripper, Sour Kush and the keeper of the garden the little sweet haze that could.

(You will see it doing some regular photo bombing. The patient that gifted it to me was calling it he and correcting himself with "she". It looks like a girl to me but I always say he as well. I keep him around even though she is small she is said to be very good medicine!)

**Medium: Espoma Organic potting soil and some coco seed starter mixed together with 1 cup of crushed oyster shell per bag and a hand full of Jonathan Green tomato and plant ferts mixed well.

(I am on a very tight budget and used what was available and cost effective. In the future I will be going as organic as possible hoping to achieve 100% and OMRI approved but for now it is what it is.)

    ** Environment:

*Area: An approximate 3x2x11 foot space sectioned into 2 with a space left for future ventilation and scrubbing between the levels. Insulated with 3/4 inch styro foam sheets and the reflective thin type insulating material you can buy at the big blue box hardware chain. The area is lined with black and white poly, taped with white duct tape and sealed with temporary doors made out of the same material and closed with velcro stips.

*Lighting: Lower level is lit by a 2 foot 6 bulb Power Trip HO T5 with a dual spectrum bulb configuration; 4 24 watt 6500k in center slots and 2 24 watt 3700k in the two outer slots. I
will be using additional HO T5 with PAR configuration for flowering as finances permit. The upper deck is lit by a single 125 watt CFL with generic parabolic wing reflector.

    * Ventilation and air scrubbing: I am still working on this and having some trouble putting it all together but to be honest I have put the least amount of thought into this part. I made a home made type bucket and activated carbon with fan design that works but not really good enough. I will be using a 6 inch exhaust fan with T connector to pull and scrub air from both levels. At first I am looking to make this a passive air intake system "I think that's what it's called".

(This is a space restricted closet grow. I am improvising and adapting as I go. Most of all I am trying to do this as close as possible to the right way while staying within budget. My temps very seldom if ever get below 75 and 85 F and RH is usually never below 40%)

Now for the run down of what's going on now. My caregiver just came over today and helped me clone the DQ. We took a lot of nice healty clones off of her that will be put to good use. More photos to view.

AOS and JTR lined up on the shelf catching some real sunlight. I have two different phenos one is sweet the other stank!!! The next shot is of the sour kush catching some sun. Another group shot. Next is a structure shot " I did some pinching and bending for future support, the root ball and the final transplant into the 7gal for flower. Whew, what a day!

Hard to say exactly but your DQ looks to be more Sativa than Indica, double serrated edges skinnier leaves, I find the Sativa doms harder to clone than the indica, that damn cheese (indica) cut is always first to clone, I've successfully cloned 3 different pheno's but the Sativa's just take a little more time and seem to stress a little bit more.

I agree it does but it's got the most god awful funk of I don't know what. I have never smelled the cheese before but this thing was stinking up my entire house at a young age. I made a sour kush clone today kinda broke off by mistake as I was giving her a little work out. We will see how that one does compared to the DQ. Thanks for looking Grojak!

Dairy Queen, Sour Kush report: week ??? (everything is staggered and it's all in my head somwhere no notes yet)

    * Ok so a week has gone by and things are about the same. No major issues or setbacks other than space is tight and I still don't have a proper Bloom Room. This is the week I will get it done!!! Damnit!

    * Moved the stank DQ into a 7 gallon for it's final resting place for the next 2.5 months or so.
    * The sour kush are worrying me a bit. I think it could be PH problems or heat stress. I may have let them go a 1/2 day too long between watering and my temp got close to 90 once or twice. Does anyone know if Kush prefer a more acidic or alkaline soil? All four of the Kush are having this problem. It is generally isolated to the lower fan leaves. They are turning brittle at the ends and crumbling up. They just look ragged. I'm hoping it was the heat and they were trying to kill off the bottom sets by shutting them off.

I checked the ph from the over spill and it was on the low side of 7 so maybe 6.8 - 7 (no pen yet using pool test strips and distilled water). I will post a few photos of the leaves. I think it is also from the abuse they take when moving in and out of the closet area. I try to be gentle but I will be the first to admit that I am a spaz always knocking shit over...

    * The AOS and JTR and just hanging in the sun a few hours a day. They are starting to pick up and it won't be long till they need them new feet!

As I said previously I had 3 pheno's, the one I didn't keep might be the one you have (never mind that I didn't keep her), a very Sativa dom, tallest of all 3, stetched like no other and had a similar stink as the Cheese. I tossed this girl because A. my house limits me to using a 8bubl 4' T5 setup (a 400w HPS draws too many amps for this place), B. I had to top her 4 weeks into flowering *removed 8 inches off one branch and 5 inches off another) to try to keep a nice canopy and she still brought in just 4g less than the indica cheese pheno. I did try to breed with her before tossing it but mights ruined the plant and it was first to go back into flower so I tossed it.

I harvested in late January and started smoking it around Feb 14th and still have a jar left. While there is no doubt a funk smell and as you will soon find out tons of trichs, after curing in my jars for a couple months I noticed a very complex aroma. The Cheese is overpowering, but on a day when my sinus's are clear (freakin allergies) I can detect the ever so subtle smell of lemonade (which is identical to the lemonade pheno smell). Just know she's going to double or triple in flower (presumably).

    Default Update Making space

I am in the process of swapping around lighting and plants as I make space for a flowering tent~! Just a few quick pictures as an update.

** The first is a group shot of the DQ, Sour Kush and AOS and single JTR. I didn't include photos of the sour kush yet. I did some LST / Cropping/ Bending ect. I will get them up close next time.
** The next is a group shot with the duel spectrum bulbs on.
** Tight overhead of the DQ.
** Plate full of Ace Of Spades, I am getting ready to top them in the next day or two.
    * Lined up looking good.
** The little JTR. This one has had it tough, dropped a few times still ticking.

Well back to my room. I need to get another light moved around and put up some plastic. I have my first cloning project underway right now and I'm excited to say that I see roots on a single clone. I am eagerly awaiting the others to cut the rock wool too. I was hoping for 50% success rate! Patience is a virtue!
