First Grow 3'x3'x7' 240w LED 6 Plants in Soil...

First timer here, been doing a lot of reading and now growing my first ladies. Started on 2/12 with 6 clones from a dispensary; 2 GDP, 2 God Bud, and 2 Jack Herrer the GDP and JH were about 10 inches and the GB about 5 inches all were in solo cups when I got them, also to my discovery pretty root bound. The ladies were transplanted to Happy Frog Potting soil and 2 gallon pots on 2/14 after I discovered them severely drooping. They looked pretty sad over the last two days but are perked back up some today :) . Haven't started with nutes yet as they were just transplanted but planning to start around the 28th or so with Botanicare Pro Grow and Liquid Karma.

My set up is a 3x3x6.5 (Had the tent dimensions slightly wrong when I made the original post :joint:) tent with a 240w (really 180w...) LED and a couple 23w (100w eqv) 5000k daylight CFL's. I am using a 4" inline fan with can filter for exhaust and passive intake through the tent vents, I have the fan hooked to a speed controller to limit noise and I would guess it is pulling around 90cfm where I am running it. Temps are hanging out around 74-77 degrees and humidity around 35-40% I am having to run a small space heater to keep these temps although in another month or so I shouldn't need it. I plan to add a couple T5 HO to the mix along the back and side of the tent and likely another 90w of LED to the mix before I flip to 12-12.

I have done a lot of reading but very open to suggestions, criticism, questions and encouragement as it can be tricky to sort the good from the bad as well as figure out how it applies to my situation. Now on to the pictures :eyesmoke:

2/17 Update - Watered today with 1/2 strength Liquid Karma each plant was given about 3/4 of a liter. Pictures below.

2/18 Update - Rearranged the tent a little today, raised the LED light about 2 inches and suspended the CFLs from the top of the tent rather than clipped to the sides. I also removed the reflectors from the CFLs so they wouldn't impede the LED. Will edit this post and add pictures shortly, but wanted to update this while I was thinking about it. As a side note after watering all of the ladies roughly the same yesterday the God Bud plants are significantly drier than any of the others today, surprises me considering they are 4-5 inches shorter than the JH and GDP.

Well this sucks, really wishing I had kept an offline journal of my grow now. I am going to make a couple notes of days in this post that were important and I will likely attach a crap-load of pictures to show the progress in the near future. I will be picking back up where I left off though so stay tuned as we finish these ladies off.

Important dates: 2/26 - First day of 12/12 lighting. 3/12 - Light burn on GDP1, while inspecting the damage noticed Thrips. 3/13 - Treated for Thrips with Neem Oil and Spinosad. 3/17 - Administered second treatment of Spinosad for Thrips.

3/21 Update - The ladies seem to be recovering well from the Thrips, haven't seen any evidence of a live Thrip since the 16th now so I think I have them beat. They all seem to have stopped growing vertically now with one of the GDP's coming in at 23" and all of the others right at 19"-20". All of the plants are showing bud growth and in the last couple days I have really been able to see the crystals starting to appear on the buds and leaves.

3/22 Update - Watered the GDP today neither the God Bud or JH were ready though. I am actually a little worried about how wet the God Bud still is, although she looks fine overall. The overall bud growth from day to day has been pretty significant the last couple days and they are really starting to put off some smell.

Hey HelsBane, plants are lookin pretty damn good. I can't say I've seen every LED grow out there, but yours seems to be doing really well with the combo you're using. They look like very happy plants in my book, Thrips or not. Hopefully everything settles down now and the ladies can just concentrate on growing, and you can enjoy the smell :). Happy Growing and thanks for sharing your grow.

Haven't thought much about this thread in a while now but had a couple people ask how it turned out so thought I would update. Final dry weight from the plants was right about 3.5 oz total, with the Jack Herrer and God Bud contributing about 1/2oz per plant and the GDP with about 3/4oz per plant. The God Bud and GDP both smoked very nice and were quite potent, I was very impressed with the quality. The Jack Herrer on the other hand didn't finish as well and while it was potent smoke it was very harsh, I ended up using it for butter. Overall I was disappointed with the yield but also very pleased that I made it through my first grow without losing any plants and produced some high quality smoke.

After the grow I switched gears a bit and added another tent so I could set up a perpetual grow. I havent set up a journal for it yet, but I think I will soon. I believe my first harvest from the new set up will be around 8/12 of four plants and then I should harvest two plants every four weeks after. I am flowering under a 600w HPS now though and using the LED for veg.
