  • damn, sorry about that last grow man. yeah im going to get a ppm meter when i start using my nutes here in about 8 more days (letting my stragglers catch up). i think it may be safe to start over so glad youre doing that. yeah your stems went red and your leafs show true nute burns. make sure on this new go round that your ppm is 300 for the early vegging stage your water may have its own ppm, calculate that first, then add nutrients and subtract water's ppm to know how much nutes u are using. then balance your pH to 6.0 last (as nutes alter that as well).

Day 3-

Supplies: Rockwool cube, PH Up and Down, Ph correct water (6.0), PPM/PH Meters, Humidity dome
IMG_0001.jpg

Taproot has emerged..
IMG_0003.jpg

Rockwool cube was soaked in 6.0 PH water for approx. 10 mins.
IMG_0004.jpg

Drained excess moisture out of rockwool cube, placed seedling into rockwool and covered.
IMG_0007.jpg

Placed rockwool cube into humidity dome.
IMG_0008.jpg

Placed humidity dome under 4 - 2' T5's

Ill check the seedling growth daily and upload pics in a day or two.

Sup RR? I picked up these at my local hydro shop for about $130. I'm sure you can find them online for less. Hope this helps.

Right on man. That's what I used for my first grow too. Seemed to work pretty good except for the last stages of flower. It was hard to keep stable. I'll let you know what I think as time goes on.

i have the same meter as well works great, takes a little time to stable out when reading (mayb 3-5sec.) but it keeps the calibration for a while, i only calibrated it once, had it for about a 8 or 9 months. Just dropped it in some nutrient water i was mixing this morning and screwed it all up. View attachment 2042386View attachment 2042387. I was so pleased with its performance that i purchased another one this afternoon, waiting on it in the mail before the end of the week hopefully before my next feeding. I am sure you will love it. So, the lesson to be learned here is to keep a tight ass hold on it when your reading your water samples cause it aint waterproof.
Happy Growing.

How do I calibrate it? The instructions weren't very clear.

@Rickross, you wont be disappointed. @amax, to calibrate you take the screwdriver that came with the unit, i cant find mine but i used one for a eyeglass repair kit. You need a flat head though. This is the little knob you turn:IMG-20120206-00246.jpg.
Get your calibration solution and stick it in there and turn the knob till it reads the same as the calibration solution..
