Seems like a reasonable solution ^^^. But that plant is definitely N deficient. You shouldn't be losing leaves or having them go yellow yet. Maybe a few weeks into flower when they've stretched way out and the canopy is thick. The bottom leaves will drop off a little due to lack of light, but I have gone through whole grows without a single leaf dropping and I certainly don't lose leaves or have them go yellow in veg.

Ok, I will pick some up to have it on hand in case it is needed.
I completely understand the lack of light and leafs yellowing from it. I may be wrong, But I would find it hard to believe this is the case. The plants are really not that big yet to where I think it is a lack of light. They are under a 400w HPS and 2- 4' 2 bulb floros as well. I move the plant and rotate them 2 times a day to ensure good lighting to the whole plant.

I will keep an eye on it and report any changes good or bad.

UPDATE...... Well the girls are looking rather well. The yellowing has not gotten any worse. Actually the girls have had a growth spurt the last couple of days, what I would call a VERY impressive growth spurt. They haven't gotten much taller but sure have bushed out.
I have put a wet towel in the room to help increase the RH and it has now been running pretty steady between 45Rh-65Rh.
I don't know if it is the increase of Rh or just the phase they are at but the smell sure has increased as well.
Could the growth spurt be due to the higher Rh??
I am thinking about flipping to 12/12 this weekend, If I do that will be 30 days of veg.

I will try and get some more pics up in the next day or two.

I have a question.... I have done a lot of searching on this matter and it seems to have a lot of mixed opinions.
Right now I am on a 20/4 light schedule. Should I switch to a 18/6 then a 12/12 or when I am ready just switch to the 12/12?
Also what are you thoughts of giving it a 36hr complete dark period before flipping to 12/12?

I know there is a lot of talk on this but I was wondering if any of you have had any "experience" or testing in what is better.
    Thanks

I have tested 18/6 vs 20/4 vs 24/0 and I did not perceive any noticeable differences in growth rate. I now run 18/6 because it uses the least amount of energy and therefore is most efficient.

There is no need to go to 18/6 before going to 12/12 though. I also don't believe in 36 hours of darkness to "induce flowering". Flowering is a funny thing (again, the way I look at it, I'm not a freakin' biologist). Every plant has a genetic clock that tells it how long the flowering period is going last. If I only have 9 weeks of flowering lets say...I want my plants to receive as much light as possible in that period to give me maximum yield and potency. I don't want shortened days, I don't want days when the plants were unhappy/stressed/stunted/hungry/thirsty/pissed off at their girlfriends, whatever. I want the plants to have 60-70 days of pure happiness and bliss. Every day that's not is lost potential. This philosophy has worked for me over the years and I don't mess with it anymore.

As much light as they can handle and as much happiness as I can provide, and they pay you back in dividends. Don't cut off lights at the beginning or end, it's lost hours of light that the plant was using for production.

I am open to other insights, but after years and years of hearing "theories" about the gains by trying all of these "tricks", I just go about doin' my business the normal way and I'm happy with it.

Laser, thanks for the input and advise. I understand what your saying and you replied with your "experience" from your testing.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Someone that has actually experimented and tried it to give solid advise and replied based on experience rather than "something they read or heard about on the internet".

    Thanks man....

I was actually an AVID believer in 24/0 based on the belief that more light is better. My buddy and I got into about it and in the end I came to the conclusion that he was right after running multiple comparisons. One of my old grow journals here actually shows the comparison between 18/6 and 24/0 as I ran side by side tents. The plants where the same, at least in every way that I could measure (grown from clones) and I switched to be an 18/6 guy to save on the elctric bill.

Great responses lasr, i completely agree with you I SEE THE MOST new RAPID growth with 18/6, AN I TOO WAS AN avid 24/0 believer but after a couple side by sides i started to realize tht the 24/0 were less resilient to bugs and heatstress etc. etc i attribute this to FATIGUE never being allowed to sleep, but im no scientist and i dont get paid to think, i feel they are MUCH STRONGER if given a proper rest period

    +rep you both

    Default Flowering Day One

Well guys, today is the day I will flip to 12/12 and start flowering the girls.
It has been 30 days since they broke surface and they are looking nice.

I have 4 of the 7 that have pre flowers starting to show and a couple that I am unsure of yet. Should any of them start to show any balls I will chop their heads off.
The yellowing has not continued at all and they are nice and green looking, still haven't added anything except water and Molasses added in the water about every 3rd watering. I am hoping that I can continue on with just water or maybe a tea along the way.

Again these are mixed bag seeds so I dont know exactly what I have here. I only keep seeds from good smoke so hopefully they will follow suit as well. I assume they are mixed strains as several plants look different then the others. Some look like little Christmas trees with nice secondary branches and others that look like little shrubs all short and bushy. The height difference between them is only about 4" (ranging between 12" to 16") but things might change after they start to stretch in flower. I will be sure to post some pictures of how they look now before they stretch so the difference is documented.

I am hoping that everything in flower goes as well as it has up to this point, If so the wife and I should be having some good nugs soon enough. If the time I have put into these bag seeds pays me good dividends then I will get my hands on some good seeds. I am hoping to try out a sativa as both the wife and I like the high much better.

If there is anything I should be keeping an eye on during this time please feel free to throw it out there.
Thanks for all the advise and help.....

Be careful with that wet towel, as it will mildew. I'd recommend a cup/bucket of water in the corner to try and help your RH instead of a wet cloth. Grow looks good though, subbed til the end!
