Hey guys.

I'm new here but loving the forums. A fellow grower pointed me to the site and when he gave me some seeds to try out, he suggested a journal here. So... here it is.

This is a legal grow, in a closet (about 6ft x 3ft) using GlowPanel 45 LED panels from Sunshine Systems. I'm currently using the panels on my first grow in the same closet, 3 vegging cheese strains. These seeds are going to be my second grow (although before harvesting my first) but my first grow from seeds, as the cheeses were cloned.

So to business... the seeds are from a cross-pollination of a Critical Mass and Grape Ape plant. For brevity I'm calling them Massive Grape or MG. I germinated them between a couple of plates and soaked paper towels.

I planted 2 seeds in each plastic cup. The cups had drainage holes punctured into the bottom before filling with Happy Frog organic soil. I've been told that this may be too rich for my seeds and seedlings, but it's all I have. What do you think? (UPDATE: I asked the same question in another thread and my fears are assuaged. It should be fine, apparently.)

I labelled the cups and put them under a CFL with a reflector. I wouldn't normally have labelled all of them if they're the same, but I'm also trying out another batch of seeds that I won't be recording (I have higher hopes for these anyway.) The purple light in the photos is from the LEDs I have on the older plants still in veg.

I'm keeping the tops of the cups moist with a water sprayer, but avoiding soaking the soil too heavily. (UPDATE: apparently that was a bad idea. I'm keeping them at field saturation now.)

Also, because I'm keeping it legal and only allowed 12 plants, some of those are going to be selected out. I have 24 seeds in the tray (2 per cup, remember) and my plan is to pick the best of the two out of each cup after a little bit, and then pick the best few cups to keep growing. I may keep as many as 9 or as few as 3, depending on how they look, how the other batch of seeds does and how many clones I decide I want to clip from the cheeses I already have going.

I guess that's about it until something pops. I'll keep posting, please let me know if you have thoughts or suggestions. Thanks!
