NO intake / exhaust fans?
Unfortunally no.
I have no possibility to drill or do any modifications in the closet/grow area. Instead I keep the door open to the grow area (closet) at all times during the light hours and I also got a little table fan inside the closet which, so far, works pretty well. I've now placed the table fan at the top corner of the grow area since hot air rises, blowing out air through the open door. It works pretty good, keeping the temperature at 25-27 degrees and a humidity at around 35-45%.
Thanks for the interest![]()
In veg, higher humidity, at 60-70% will benefit your plants. Low humidity can cause excess transpiration, and make your plants look underwatered, despite good moisture at the roots.
This happens because during rapid growth, the plant keeps its stomata open to pull large quantities of water and nutrients up from the soil (cappilary action), and CO2 from the air. This makes it very vulnerable to excess transpiration.
A tray of lava rock partially filled with water placed in there with your plants will effectively raise the humidity. A daily misting works too, but don't over-do it. (don't be alarmed if plants appear "wilted" right after a misting, this is natural, and makes excess water run off the plant.
During flowering, lower humidity (40-50%) is fine, in order to prevent mouldy buds.
Good luck!
