Hey skunko, IYO would be a crapshoot for me to find an 'orange' in a pack of AH? I know shanti leaves some selection work in his lines..

hey tran its possible although i would say less likely than finding something more like the mango or similar big sativa
out of my females most did lean towards the sativa / haze side and produced large plants ..


the orange is quite different it grows pretty standard hybrid leaves leaning more towards the indica, its structure is medium tall and has a late growth stretch in flower .. this plant is very much a hybrid of the mixed genes


the buds produce pink pistils they do stack upwards on some of the main colas that is the only thing i can see that makes it look haze like to me


with a nice hash taste mixed in with the orange taste, i would think the afghan and the northern lights are dominating my orange pheno with a smaller amount of the haze and skunk coming through
although i can see those genes are still present in this cross, so its pretty much a mix of all the genes making this pheno


i do have a few s1 fem* seeds from the orange and the skunk haze pheno, they would have a much better chance of being similar most s1's i have grown have been like clones,
if your that interested id be happy to send them to you, i have no real need for them myself
although its still not a guarantee but a much better chance


also i did not separate the 2 phenos as its only 6 seeds in total i have kept i put both phenos in 1 bag , so you would be getting the skunkhaze pheno also
id send you some clones but im not sure how they would survive the journey i think you are pretty far away m8 lol

3 weeks update

All is going well i have removed more thinner growth and some leaves from the middle of the canopy
i have also re-trained the flav to grow more towards the Jamaican grape side of the room as it was shading my skunkhaze pheno too much
the flav is very greedy for space and light

im using different bulbs/lamps now
2 of the sodium's i have replaced with colour adjusted hps bulbs they were on offer so i thought id give them a run
i doubt it will make much difference if they were not half price i would not of changed them, so far they seem ok

im now running
1x osram 600w sont plus
1x philips 600w greenpower
1x sylvania 600w grolux

they should start to put the weight on over the next few weeks
as seed plants they had a nice growth spurt from weeks 4-6

the Jamaican grape and the skunkhaze pheno develop bud early and both have visible resin as soon as the buds appear, both of these make the same looking buds early on thin slightly off white pistils in a round shape bud
both of these plants also have more sativa looking leaves

the flav and the orange look similar they are both developing slower and have much thicker fluffy white pistils in a more oval/long shaped bud
both of these have more indica looking hybrid leaves

i noticed some very slight burning /rust on both my Jamaican grape and skunkhaze pheno
i do not like to run individual nutes for individual plants
but as these 2 lead more towards the sativa side and are in different NFT tanks than both the flav and the orange pheno i have decided to run the nutes slightly lower at 1.8 EC for these

the flav and orange have showed no signs of burn and i have kept them at EC 2.0
they are approaching 4ft tall now, the stretch should be in its final week

Mate thankyou, yes I hear that the mango is quiet dominant in hybrids. I made a sour bubble x skhz and the haze dominates in aroma and elongated structure.
Pink pistils should be an indicator for the orange I've never heard before that S1 are very consistent, thanks for your observations. I will be keen to find an 'orange' but skhz is my most reached for jar, double winning I'm currently collecting up mns skunkhaze, Ash, samS hazeskunk1 and sams hzsk x wonder haze (really nice freebie I'm trying to track down more

ill post a pic update at week 4

the orange is starting to catch up in bud development she very much matures from the bottom up she is a slow starter but a quick finisher

i have also managed to get the flav out of the way of my skunkhaze and i am happy she will have enough light to develop now

i have given them the largest thinning out sofar, virtually all of the large leaves have been removed leaving the medium sized and smaller leaves only,
the thin branches / shoots have been removed from the bottoms and the middle , they grow alot of stringy useless crap inside them, i remove all of this too,
only the strongest growth remains

now the light and air are getting through nicely and bud is developing nicely allover the largest branches
i think i have removed enough weak growth and leaves now, hopefully i can leave them alone and wait for them to develop nice colas


i seem to be struggling a bit to keep them at EC 2.0 they are eating the food and drinking so quickly i am topping them up with food every 2-3 days
they are between EC 1.8 -2.0 most of the time

i don't think this clone run will be any quicker than the seed run
the colder nights now 60-63f they develop a little bit slower during the winter ..and may go a bit red/purple
so i still think i am looking at 9-10 weeks ,same as with the seed run to reach full maturity
