400W AFs first time growing...with pics...

My Set up:
400w switchable ballast...just using HPS bulb for autos
GH Flora 3 part series
5 gallon DWC airstones

My Plants: I have 5 going, 1 Sweet seeds Speed Devil, Short Stuff 20 seed mix (3 plants), and a Sam the Skunkman Haze x Skunk#1 germing...

Speed Devil: I have all but tried to kill this plant being my firstish (I have had many failures prior...I burned overfeeding and trying to fix that incorrectly...more burn...but she is 30.5 inches tall and budding nicely with many side nugs that are almost as big as the cola...wide plant...I have done no pruning trimming cutting of any kind on any plant so far, the 20th is day 60 from seed and I will probably cut if the sugar come out more...Speed Devil .JPG Speed Devil cola3 day 57.JPG Speed Devil cola1 day 57.JPG Speed Devil day57.JPG Speed Devil cola day 57.JPG

Short Stuff: everything I have read my next plant is an auto assassin from them and she has been my champion! Assassin day 50 main cola.JPG Assassin day 50.JPG it seems the Assassin loved a lower PH of 5.2-5.5 even when I tried to increase her to 5.8 the next day she would always go back down...so I left her there...she is in final flush day 50 from seed I think...

Being a new grower I have learned a TON from this website...but it seems any advice given is just in general...what I have learned from my failures and hours upon hours of endless reading everything...The people at RIU are awesome and really know their stuff when it comes to growing there really are some people that have it down to a science...but being new its hard to really understand the advice or even follow it etc...and on the other side it seems like it would be very difficult to advise only because the person advising may know all there is to growing...even down to your same strain...but they don't "KNOW" your plant like you do...If I called you up and said my child has red spots all over her please help...you might say chicken pox when really my child just broke out in hives due to an allergy...FEEL your plant...KNOW your plant...follow the advice given here as a BASIC guide...but none of it will do you any good until you get a plant in some dirt/water...I have also learned a LOT of patience as well as to take it slow...I have read many posts about feeding schedules and the like and I tried to follow some of those with dumping all the nutes in for that stage right away...so for autos I read wk1 200 wk2 450 etc etc up to 8-- ppms...I found out dumping all that in at once kills my plants...so I take it really slow for them never going above 100ppms in one feeding per day being hydro I have found my plants seem to react quickly to the changes I make so I monitor them when making changes any where between 2-4 hours and I rotate the tops of my buckets on about the same schedule...I also learned the importance of flushing it seems to be a cure all and a start over kind of thing with your plant...as I learn more I will post more...any comments suggestions or smart ass remarks are kindly regarded LOL

did have a couple questions if anyone cares to take a shot at an answer...thanks kindly in advance for your time...my question is when your plant starts flowering and you get all your pistils/calyxes when do you know to put into final flush? do you follow what your schedule is for your plant? or do you follow your plant? if you follow the plant when is it time for a flush? clear p/c's? milky %? having the short stuff seed mix pack I don't know one strain from the next and I gotta say what a royal pain in the ass it is to figure out but kind of exciting at the same time...I would not advise buying a mix pack with shitload of unmarked strains...

sleeping with the loppers next to the bed...today is day 60 from seed! Yeah you guessed it she is NOT ready yet...still have clear trichs swelling on the speed devil...shouldn't be much longer?

auto assassin still my champion although I think with both plants I went into final flush a few days maybe even a week too soon...

ok so I was adding some water this morning and a branch with about 5 flowers on it caught something and snapped...damn! drying in the oven now...gonna light up in about 20 mins LOL

LOL, I have been waiting for that "half accidental" snap to occur so I could have a sample. I just can't bring myself to do it intentionally lol.

From what i hear you dont harvest until all of the Hair on the bud has receded back into the bud and the plant itself should give off a amberish/goldenish aura even if there is new white hair thats what they go by not even the trichs someone ive seen on the forums said they have been growing for like 7+ yrs and nvr looked at the trichs

Thanks for the posts! I certainly did them a week too soon monday is day 60...had many deaths and lost track of who lived and who didn't...yes I was!...if I wait till all the hair recedes I have a few to go then...the trichs look awesome under 30x...omg I have to go to radio shack brb ugh 100x need it!...

my "accidental snap" provided a nasty taste but a really good feeling happy kinda buzz! my hairs are receding on maybe 60% of flowers...I counted the "main nugs" last night and there was like 34 I think! My cola on the speed devil is fattening up nicely will post pics later...

Assassin still looking gorgeous and thriving in plain water for an extra week...ugh yieldfail...

I also have decided in my first grow to upgrade everything!!! This is gonna be the new setup as soon as it gets here!!! let me know what you all think and is something missing? I feel like something is missing from this package...and not even sure I will do the soil but since I have it I may play with it and test the hydro/soil side by side...please let me know if I made a good choice please...I know secret jardin but this was entire package and I already have hydro set with a 400w (which I am keeping and will incorporate somehow into my future grows) but please again let me know what you all think...thanks kindly in advance!

Ok so I miss calculated my dates lol speed devil should be ready for chop tomorrow (still many hairs so might be another few days)! Assassin is a week behind that and steady making sugar! Tent will be here Monday hopefully...my other 2 short stuff are still babies although one has sexed...it's a girl! Uneven internodes on her...
