Default A Super Silver First

First Post, first grow, first journal, so lets do this right.

Hello everybody, I want to say thanks to all the dedicated individuals who have contributed so much knowledge in the art of cultivating this wonderful love-bearing plant. K enough ass kissing now on to weed.

I picked up a super silver haze clone and a blueberry, however sadly I think the blueberry may not make it- perhaps you could tell me. Anyhow I'm excited about the Super Silver Haze as it's said to be one of the best sativa hybrids.

Here we go with week 1

First picture is the day I got the clones. The larger one is blueberry.
Second picture is the setup I have for the time being. Using T5 2 red bulbs and 2 blue. Medium is Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil. Starting Big Bloom schedule tomorrow. I'm still missing a lot of the necessary tools such as PH meter and the necessary air setup to keep humidity in check. Right now it reads at 43% at 25 C.
Third Picture is the super silver haze after 1 1/2 weeks of pregrowth. I got these clones on a whim and was not financially aware to the extent of the process.
Fourth Picture is a sad sight I had to leave town for the weekend and didn't nearly water the blueberry enough for as long as I was gone. All the leaves were a shriveled up and brownish green, somewhat crispy. So I figured if I cut at the stem it might have a fighting chance in the nutrient rich soil. The inside of the stem is still green and the roots looked somewhat healthy coming out of the rock wool. Does it have a chance with no leaves???

quite a first post. thanks to all who have indirectly given me advice and to those will continue to do so in the future of this journal.

First day of feeding the kids some nutrients and a light bulb went off in my head as I was passing through my living room. The closet I have the setup in is right by my surround sound speaker. I suddenly remembered a 'Myth Busters' episode I saw that proved plants growth was positively affected by Music, especially Rock. Has anyone had any results with this?

Here's a pic of the crude setup, soon to change.

lol dude... i don't want to upset you but that one is dead, by cutting all leaf and/or growth tips you just killed the plant...but maybe i'm looking at the picture wrong...but i'm pretty sure i'm just looking at a stem sticking out of dirt...not sure.

GL happy growing

number 4 has had better days, thats for sure. I am not positive, but I believe a plant needs leaves to go through photosynthesis and produce more plant. I wish you would have taken a picture before you tore the leaves off. These plants are amazingly resilient and it may have had a chance at surviving.

nah the leaves basically fell off when I picked up the plant. It's confirmed... gone. I'm the type of person that would keep watering the damn thing until someone told me not to.

Default day 6

Almost a week into this with no problems. The plant seems to be taking to the nutrients provided as the leaves achieved a sturdy darker green from the center throughout.

At what point would it be necessary to switch from these cfl's to an hps?

Well, first, you wasted a beautiful bud bearing plant by cutting the leaves off. Plants need the leaves to absorb carbon dioxide and sunlight and also moisture. Without the leaves, these absorbtions cannot take place, therefore, photosynthesis cannot take place which is VITAL to the growth of ANY plant. Therefore, YOU killed the plant. On the other hand though, if it is as bad as you say, then the plant had no chance at all anyways.

With that out of the way, I do beleive most growers switch to HPS during the vegetative and flowering stages. I will definitely be following this thread.

Hey thanks for stopping by and also thanks for beating a dead... plant. anyway I understand that it was I who killed it in the first place, regardless of what I did with the leaves, however, I'm now focusing on this plant- the living one.

As far as the HPS is concerned, an idea of (specifically) when during these stages might be helpful to me. I appreciate your invested interest and I am looking forward to more of your comments.

lmao, sorry if I came on a little strong there bud, as for EXACT times, im not entirely sure, I am pretty sure though, that most will tell you to use your own personal judgement, if it were me, I would hook up the HPS halfway through veg and use it all the way to the harvest.
