This will be my first post and yes, my first grow. I would like to think I've leaned a considerable amount but continue to be reminded I know very little. That being said I encourage input. Please tell me if I'm f*****d up so I can pull my head out my a**. I have spent countless hours reading the forums here to better take care of my little ones and I hope I can continue to learn. Hope everyone enjoys the show.

OG Clinton (Presidential Kush phenotype) Indica
Cindy 99 (I was told the flower will turn blue near harvest) Sativa

Mini Cool Cab Hydro Heart system

Medium
Rockwool

Lighting
2X 90W 1w=led from Sunlight Solutions. (I will be upgrading soon to the Blackstar led's with 3w Chips)

Supplemental
2X T5 Coralife Actinic Blue 24"

It's a struggle without the proper equipment to control everything. Liquid testing ph makes me feel like a cave man grunting at colors.

I started to use LST right away in an attempt to bush the plant without topping. Later found some plant thrive in the situation and others will straight up refuse to cooperate. Cindy 99 got angry bushed out everywhere and I had misshaped leaves left and right. Turned out to be a very bushy plant and couldn't control it so I let them go. The OG, the dispensary called her Bill, loved it. I currently have one Clinton that has not been topped thus far and has multiple side branches I've shaped to be the same height as the main cola.

Yes, this is a DIY. This and anything else I can make instead of buy I'm all for it. I ended up going with a tank but thought some could benefit.
To cover what I learned about CO2. Use DIY CO2 only if you have no other option. If my current tank goes out and cant afford another for a while I will use it again. I introduced Yeast into my hydro system. I was shanking it during the day to pump more in and I think I shook to hard. OMFG it's a tun of work to get it completely out. It's nasty and loves to hang out on your roots. If this happens let me know and I'll walk you threw how I got it out. After I got it out I I started treating my water with beneficial bacteria from Fox Farm, Big Bloom. My plants go crazy for it. Every time I put a new mix in they perk up. Make sure the bacteria can live in your mixture before you add it. Ph!

Here is the mixture for the DIY CO2.
I went threw a lot of different ones but found to get an average of 30 ppm, a 1.0 decrees in your ph,
Add 1 and 1/2 tsps of, not highly active, but good quality yeast.
1 1/2 cup of Sugar with a tbsp of brown sugar.
2 tbsp of protein (any work out protein works. this is just to prolong the mixture helps out yeast not going to act like I remember why)
Add everything BUT yeast in warm container 3/4 full of any water but i hear dirty works well.
This part I made my own. I do not activate the yeast. Add it once the water is room temp and let the yeast fall to eat own their own and rotate the bottle when that stop moving. the top yeast float down to the bottom and the yeast at the bottom rises to the top. After about to turns and 30 min later you get 2 bubbles a sec.....ish.

Much more is to be said about CO2 and my knowledge, I'm sure, is still basic. I made my COOL cab as air tight as I can.

My room temps now stay around 80 with a temp of 72 when I was foliar feeding so the stomata on the leaves are open.
Humidity is a problem here so I added a humidifier and fans to circulate air. Current humidity is now around 40 50% most days.

Im just going to catch everyone up to this point try and get as many pictures up as I can.
Before T5 Week 2
The Cindy 99 was toped once along with my tallest Clinton. Only the one Clinton remains uncut.

After T5 same day. Notice the purple output with the addition of the blue spectrum spike the T5 provides.

Week 3 1/2 to 4ish. Temps stay at 75-80 and 68-72 ish. I Can't see when I'm asleep. CO2 increases nutes by 60-80ppm or 2.0 decrease in ph. Also reads around 60 difference on meter. Humidity stays around 40 50 all day and 55 in the morning. I would have a more gradual picture line up but nothing went wrong and i just watched them explode.

Also plan to go with 2X 240W Blackstar LED. The 46in t5 colormax will be vertical at four corners with multiple 250W 2700K CFL lights to get right up on the buds. It should look sick.
Right now I'm using full spectrum T5, Sun Blaster, until my Colormax and 2700k CFL gets here.

Thanks man! I see the +rep a lot. Would like to know if it's a valid increase in rep on the site and if so would like to know how to give it out. Yeah, I'm happy when their happy. The question today is what is best for them when they are happy. I started out this morning with 1500 ppm. That's full strength for my girls. I burnt them around 1800 about 4 days ago and try not to push them this early. 7 hours, I checked my tank and its now at 1100 and this is with a decent amount of evaporation. I wish I new exactly what nutrients they where using. Just so everyone knows I use rain water as often as possible for every change and flush. Here is around ph 6.5 and starts me out 3 sometimes 0 ppm depending on how hard it's raining. If its best I'll start throwing new mixes when it gets low but don't see the need if this is plenty of nutes for 2 1/2 gallon res?
This doesn't happen all the time but if conditions stay like they like it they suck up a lot of nutrients and seem extremely happy!

If you make your system RDWC you could get away with those small pots. You'd need a few inexpensive mods, some bulkhead fittings and that's it. +Rep is when you add to someones reputation in the forum usually because they gave good advice or information. There's a star icon under every post that when mouse over says "Reputation" just hit that and leave a comment and your name so you may get some back

RDWC would be perfect for me and +rep. I'm going to look more into to it for when I upgrade to the 5x5x7 tent. Might be another month or so. If you know a place that sells good supplies/systems/buckets, throw me a link. The bud is the Cinderella 99. Same place i got the clone.

I've bought from Htgsupply and Horticulturesource. They're both good and can find almost everything there. About Co2 your bucked and the leds shouldn't be making a huge difference (I'm just assuming on this one). And if your PPM are lowering while the PH is slowly rising then it's good.

Very nice setup, C99 is an excellent strain. I dunno about blue florwers tho , i been growing it for along time and never seen one yet. But they are sexy with no blue lol

Thanks Dizzle Frost. I went back up to the dispensary and got a bud of the C99. Looks more purple. I'm sure he said blue to sell it more. I would like to grow Joey seeds C99 or one of the originals, Brothers Grimm stock. It's hard to believe someone that says they have a blue C99

A day after my last post I noticed a problem with the C99. The bottom leaves began to droop and yellow. From what I've seen it looks like a nitrogen deficiency so I backed up and put the transition formula back in. it required 5ml/gal and foliar feed twice. Would say about 10% to 90% water. This morning the C99 started to regain strength but a few hours with the lights on and droop they go. I read it takes a few days?????

I believe I got the deficiency when I switched to full bloom period to soon. Please let me know if i went about this the wrong way and if there is anything I can do to help them out. Should i take off the bad leaves or wait until plant bounces back??

My ph has not changed and still a steady increase.
PPM decrease has slowed but still decreases
Temp is 78 80 with CO2

Just to update everyone. I've been battling root rot, AGAIN!!!!! I was told that beneficial bacteria would shield, more or less, and would prevent the return of root rot. WRONG!!! Again, don't believe what your told, even if it seems simple and knowledgeable. I lost my C99. Bill is a fighter. I started back on the H2O2 and cut the dead roots of Bill. It was a horror show i'm my grow room. I hate that I'm posting such a noob move on my part but hope someone learns from my mistakes. Its all about learning. I'll post pictures as soon as they regain strength unless everyone really wants to see what happened.

Remember, the deficiency was oxygen strangulation. it stats with nitrogen or whatever the plants needs the most at that stage of development, then works down the list, showing signs of many deficiencies. DON'T FORGET TO CHECK YOUR ROOTS!!!!!!!
