I have been a long time HPS grower and still using HPS lights, this is my "test tent" with 100% LED grown plants to see how they do
I am using 2 Hydroponics Hut LEDs and have 2 Grow LED Hydro 180w LEDs on the way right now which will give a total of 700 actual draw watts when they arrive..
Just put 12 plants into flower and plan on keeping them shorter and thick for a nice sea of green
Have a few different strains
(3)Purple Wreck, (2) Purple Kush,(4) OG Kush, (1) Afghani Kush x White Widow, (1) Northern Lights x White Widow, and(1) Super Skunk.
Growing in a growlab 120 which is 4x4
Questions/Comments welcome but not wanting to turn this into a HPS vs LED debate or questionnaire at all as they just turn ugly
Day 2 pictures of the first 12 plants and should be adding the 2nd batch of 12 in about a month to try to set up a nice staggered harvest and stay legal
I am just starting a few diesel rdyers under some LED. Starting under cfl for a few weeks first. Did you run LED right from the start? Beautiful crop will be watching it thru the bloom. Thanx
They look great, Ive never grown HPS or LED just CFL and under the good ole sun but LED are certainly interesting. Im just wondering I thought LED were much cooler than all the other lights how come your lights are so far away from the canopy of you plants it looks like 2.5ft away from plants is this because you raised lights for pics or what. Also how much did all those LED lights cost you must be thousands for all the shit you have if you use HPS and LED and other expencive shit...
I think it must be the angle in which i took the picture and they were slightly higher then as i was moving things around... the lights are set at 18" right now...
LEDs were pricey thats for sure... more than i care to add up right now lol probably around $3k+ easy for just my LED flower and veg but i consider this a reinvestment to better help my patients.
Plus LEDs are supposed to have a 50,000 hr lifespan ... figure even if they are half of that... they should last me 5.5 Years for the flowering tent.
I'd say along with almost any seasoned grower on here that you should move those lights down up to a foot each. Looks to be a very nice operation you've got going with led's there and you'll see explosive growth once the led's are closer to the canopy. Good to see people making use of the reputable led company's products.

Thanks for the advice... they are currently set right at 18" above the canopy... The lights were slightly raised when i photographed them and from an downward angle which made them look higher than they actually are.
I will move them even closer once i the other lights get here... hopefully by the end of the week if they shipped yesterday as i was told they would
