Small Island Sweet Skunk Grow

Three Island Sweet Skunk clones, obtained December 2nd, 2010. We figure we'll get three new ones every month-and-a-half or so, to keep a small but perpetual cycle. This is our second grow.

That's a picture of them the night we got them. All three have Hawaiian names: Pele (Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes and fire) on the right, Kealoha ("loved one") on the left, and Hokule'a ("guiding star") in the back. They're vegging under a 400w MH, and are in Sunshine #4.

Monday, December 6th. As you can see, Kealoha and Hokule'a are doing well. Pele, however, was accidentally nudged and possibly uprooted a little bit. She really drooped for awhile, and several leaves yellowed and were clipped off. She recovered (as you'll see in the next set of pictures), but is now quite a bit behind her sisters, who were transplanted into 1gal pots; Pele is still in her red cup.

Today, December 14th. Pele is still in her red cup, since we want her to recover a bit more before we transplant her, which will probably be later this week. Mountain Dew can for size reference.

I'm a bit of an Advanced Nutrients whore. :3 Right now they're on a light blend of Sensi Grow A+B, Nirvana, Sensizym, and Rhino Skin, with a little bit of Botanicare's Liquid Karma thrown in. I've also been applying Voodoo Juice, Tarantula, and Piranha once a week. Hokule'a and Kealoha will get their third and final veg application later this week, while Pele still needs two more feedings of the Root Boosters.

They came with a bit of a spider mite problem, and we've neemed them three times in the past few weeks (as well as removing any we've seen by hand). Hopefully that will take care of it. We gave them some Azamax with their last watering to help.

We figure we'll put them into flowering about a week apart each, Hokule'a first, Kealoha second, and Pele coming up last. We'll also transplant them into 7gal pots when we do so. We're going to trim off any lower branches (learned that lesson the hard way last time) and (probably) FIM within the next few days.

And here are three individual shots from today.

Kealoha, Hokule'a, and Pele. Also, it's okay to post if you want to. :>

Haven't been keeping up the journal properly, but hopefully I can regain some followers with the new progress.

Here's a group photo of Pele, Hoku, and Kea from left to right, all in one gallon buckets. This photo was probably taken a week and a half or so from the last post.

This is about when the FIM technique was applied to Hoku.

A few days later the FIM was also applied to Kea.

About a week and a half later some more pics were taken.

Kealoha had some very beautiful roots at transplant time.

Hoku was put into flowering on New Year's Eve via 600 w HPS Digilux powered by a Nextgen 400/600w switchable ballast with a Raptor hood, 4'X6' enclosure. The hood is cooled by 420cfm fan that draws air through the room, through a carbon filter (all mounted to the ceiling), through the hood, and out of a window. This way there is constant circulation of fresh air (no CO2 depletion), and no worries about smells. Comments on the light intensity?

Below is a picture of Roxanne, a clone of Kealoha. We rooted her under a water jug with the bottom cut off. Much more pictures of her to come!

Pele was a bit root bound when she got transplanted.

Please let me know how you think I'm doing! Also let me know if there's something you would like explained more in depth.

Meanwhile, I'm gonna take a breakbongsmilie.

Pele's tallest branch was recently FIMed. Most likely she'll be put into flowering shortly pending spider mite and other complications.

Updated Flowering Pics

I.S.S. is reportedly a 9 week strain.
Today is the beginning of week 6 for Hokulea on the right (in back), and week 4 Kealoha on the left (in front).

Here are some more pictures of Hoku. Humbolt's own Gravity was used at 0.1 ml per liter in the past two waterings (perhaps slightly early in the bloom cycle, she gets watered about every 5 days), and she was given a little bit much of the connoisseur base, so she got slightly burned by the nutrients, some of her leaves are a bit crispy. I hope it doesn't diminish the yield to greatly.
