Heres tha background on whats been happin tha past 3 dayz. This grow started on this thread.

Day 1

My temps were running perfect for my 2 600w's over my new born babies.




Until maintainence came and told me I had to take out my window unit I had in my apartment window.

I was venting tha air out of tha 2 600w cooltubes out of the side of the window ac unit. And puling fresh air in through tha side of tha grow tent from the room that stayed at least 70.

Now that I had to take out my window unit tha ambient temp in my room is 79 and my tent temp is 95.

Im in 2 DWC buckets with each one under 600w MH or a 600w HPS.

Tha one on tha left is Super Lemon Haze and tha bucket on tha right is LSD.

Heres how its lookin now:



I have tha air being pulled from tha 2 cooltubes just blowin out tha window for now, and a small fan suckin air from outside tha window into tha room, barely lowering temps in tha room.

Not havin this A/C is killin me. My temps were at 99 with both 600s running, so I turned off tha HPS and have both buckets under 1 600w Mh.


I have 2 fans blowing at tha bottoms of tha buckets to at least keep tha rez cool and have some air circulating through there. I have a 500cfm inline fan pullin through both lights and a can 33 carbon filter at tha end to eliminate all smell from nosey neighbors.


I had to ghetto rig my exahaust/intake system today to vent tha heat from tha cooltubes, and draw in fresh cool air from the outside that im plannin on hookin up to a DIY ac.

I didnt have time to run to home depot today but im definately gonna hit it up tommorow. For supplies for my diy ac since bitch ass aprtment managers wont let me have an AC in my own room.

Anywayz, heres some pics of tha babies right now, Im bouta change tha res and put some fresh water and try to get my RO System workin so I can have pure water to grow wit. Ill probably add like 1/16 strength nute to get these seedlings up and runnin quick.

Heres both of these $40 a piece AIR KING fans I bought online. They aight, theyre supposed to be wall mounted, so I'll probably by some plywood to build some mounts so I can actually get them oscilating tha tent even better.


Ill post back whenever I get these DIY a/c built and have temps back to normal.

Tha fuckin homemade DIY AC's aint do a damn thing to drop temps. Its keepin em at 87 during tha day and round 78 with lights off. They should survive at those temps for a month or so till it starts to freeze around here right?

They're not too mall for 3 days right? They shouldnt have more nodes yet? Ive never seen a plant grown from seed continuously like this and dont know if its moving to slow or wat. How long should I expect to see 4 nodes?? 1 week? 2 weeks?

And these frozen water bottle DIY AC things aint fuckin workin, heres how it looks if yall are interested.

I got 2 small plastic narrow conatainers that could fit at least 5 watter bottles.
I drilled 6" holes on both sides to use as something like a Ice Box Heat Exchanger.
Sadly though, it didnt work for me. Temps still at 87-88.


This one was blowin air from outside tha window into it hopin to bring down tha room temp. I think i just need more powerful fans. Cuz all i got blowin for this one is a 6in 165 cfm. Proly if added at east 400 cfm, itd cool my room down quick, same for exhaust going into grow tent.


This one is pulling air in from tha room through tha DIY Cooler into tha grow room pulling with an 8" 300 cfm fan and a 6" 165 cfm booster fan blowin across tha babies.

Tha top 2 numbers is grow room temp (top) and humidity (bottom). And tha numbers on tha bottom of tha thermometer are room temps and humidity.


I think if I get stronger fans and more frozen bottles, It might help these DIY Coolers, beacause there are hardly any CFMs pushin or pullin through them. When I get this cash from my roommate Im def gonna have to invest in a bigger 6"

I have all tha air going through tha carbon filter and 2 cooltubes going out through tha window. I also have a smaller fan sucking air throught tha window.


This is how look outside my window. Tha left sliced up cardboard DIY vent you see is blowing all tha air from tha carbon filter and both lights cooltubes with a 6" 500 cfm inline fan. Tha vent on tha right is sucking air in with a cheap 6" 156 cm fan barely gettin enough fresh air into tha room


This is how it looks inside my room. Like a shelf or something with ducting coming out of it. Not too worried bout anybody comin in my room,but if someone does, I got explanations all worked out. And plus, tents locked and I lost my key, so unless you have a search warrant your not breaking tha locks to get inside my grow.


This is outside my apartment complex. My window is in luckily in a semi hidden area back in a dark corner 50ft from any street. When street lights come on, window still stays shadowed out, so theres no spot light om my grow window at any time.:mrgreen:


Im growin 6 plants under 2 600w's. Im hoping to harvest 2 pounds, but 1 is good for me, and should be tha minimum for 1200w's. There have been numerous grows with a 600w over 2-4 plants that have harvested 1 lb with only a 4-5 week veg. So I plan to do something similar to those grows.

LSTing will be my main form of training. I will FIM once on each plant, and LST till harvest.

Right now I have tha rez and water bottle to water seedlings at 800ppms with 1/16 strength nutes added. My tap comes out at 689ppm, so is this too high for these young babies?

I have an ro filter, but still havent been able to hook it up and get it pumpin

Christ that is some high ppm tap water dude. 689 ppm straight outta the tap? Wow, thats high. I would try to buy a few gallons of high quality RO/distlled water until you get your RO unit working. I wouldn't use anything higher than 275-300'ish ppm and 689ppm is way higher than that. Just too much unaccounted for deposits in that water. Who knows what its composed of. Bad idea to use it when its that heavily laden with particulates. I'd go to wal-mart and buy 5 gallons of RO water and use that until you can hook up your own RO filter and use it. Seedlings don't take tons of water yet anyhow.

Just my $0.02..

Damn, I know bro. Tha thing is I have no car and theres no way Im walkin 1 mile twice carryin 5 gallon water jugs.

FUCK!! I might have to though.

How much would it cost to buy 2 5 gallon jugs already filled with water??

Very nice setup you got going man! im subed for this one. those buckets are pretty cool where did you get them at? and i wouldent expect 2 pounds from 6 plants....escpecially if there not feminized seeds and you should expirement a little bit with your training techniques FIM and LST arent the only 2 in the world if you want max yeild i would probably go with scrog

They are feminized seeds and im about to flush them and transfer them and into their each own 5 gallon bucket with clean RO or Distilled Water tomorow

Heres these tiny over fed babies that havent grown in 4 days. Just flushed them with tap water, still tryna get tha RO filter up and runnin

They are definately all stunted from too high of ppms, so I was gonna trash them. Get tha RO filter workin and have just 4 buckets with 1 plant in each.

I still have 2 fem seeds each of SLH and LSD.

Only these seeds will be born perfectly. Germinated and placed into rockwool and watered with pure RO water only. 1 seed per 5 gallon bucket FIMed and LSTed to perfection to produce a quarter to a half a pound a plant.

Temps Will balance out once I get my fans all in place



I created more negative pressure by adding fans pulling through tha carbon filter and through tha cooltubes removing tha heat threw tha window.

I still need more fans to get tha temps down. It needs more intake now cuz tha temps went back up to 92.

Fuck it these seedlings will most likely be trashed and new ones started once I get my temps and water perfect.

Haha, ill keep em growin tho until then tho, just to see if they survive this:D

How can I lower my temps (tent and room) cheaply, under $125??

Temps are 99-100 and with lights on, with them off, it only goes dow to 88-92

Dog, i read your other thread and i am gonna sub up on this one. I really think you should have gone with soil bro. I'm not a hater though and I'm here to help people. If you are interested in running CFL's until you can get your temps taken car of I know an extremely easy way to do it:
all you would need is a power strip (has like 6 outlets usually?), and they make adapters that you screw in your cfl and then just plug in. And i bet you could just somehow attach it to your hps fixture somehow if you took your big bulb out, that way you could utilize the reflective hood still. Just somethin to think about man. All that stuff would be no more that 40-50 bucks and you would see your babies explode. If you check out my grow, i had major temp problems in the beginning and my girls looked like shit. But as soon as i took care of that shit they went crazy. CFL's are great because they run very cool temps. I think they just might be a perfect solution for you man. That way you can buy yourself some time while your in veg. I would sell the 600w mh and use the money to get watever you need to make your venting low-key and effective. The water cooler sounds like a pretty cool idea too.

I think I might go buy a couple power strips. I still have like 10 26w CFLs. That should hold me over until I can get That portable AC and more inline fans.

Oh and Another reason CFL may be the way to go is that shit you got goin on in the window of your place has got to go. Everybody is right, its a dead give away. Honestly, I am scared for you right now. Just wanna see you have a successfull grow without gettin pinched you know.
When you make that money you come out to Cali and grow legal like me and really do big things (if you want). I just started growing to save money on buying a lot of weed, but it has become my favorite hobby. Pretty much what im saying is you will learn alot and you will get good at it dont worry. If you want it, it will happen eventually. just keep yourself safe and get your spot stealth, they have enough to look at with the electricity bill (another thing CFL's will help with).

what are the lumens on your CFL's? 6500k is the best for veg but i vegged with 2700k and it worked fine.

You see tha tiny yellowing of tha SLH leaves? What are those? Are they bad?

Anywayz, heres tha babies. Tha temps got up to 100 today until i realized there was a leak in one of my vents blowin hot air into tha grow room. Sealed it and temp went down to 95. Added my new DIY AC and temps are at 91 now. I figure if i get 1 or 2 more of these with some fans, I should be able to keep tha temps in tha mid 80's running low amounts of CO2.

Heres tha new and improved Light Proof DIY A/C

Its 2 slim rubbermaid Jugs connected together with 6" holes on either side. Theres a 6" fan pulling air from outside of tent through DIY A/C. I just fill them with frozen water bottles and tha air that comes out is pretty cold.

Bet if I added 2 sets of these DIY A/Cs with 2 more 6" inline fans, I might be able to get tha tems down to 85.
