hi again to you all, i am now starting my third grow journal. i am growing afghan #1 x bigbud. its a feminised seed which has just cracked open this morning. my grow room is all set up and im starting with a 400w hps this time instead of the cfl's.
so far my method of germing seeds is 100% out of the last 3 grows and its worked for my mates too ( approx 30 seeds total ). boil the kettle & pour the water into a jar & let it cool overnight, pour the cooled water into a plastic cup, pop in the seed and put the cup into a warm dark cupboard. check every few hours because different seeds vary in time to crack open.

How many plants do you plan on having?

im starting with 1 plant for now but will take cuttings if things go to plan. so i dont know how many i'll end up with lol.

im starting with just 1 plant cos the pic here is from my last grow which was a big bud strain and it took over my grow space lol. im using the same space so i just want to see how big this baby gets.

here is an update to my grow op. as i said before im using the same space as before ( the size etc can be seen in the link to my second grow ). i made a propergator out of an old plastic box which has a clear lid which is approx 12" square. humidity inside the PROP is 70-80%, humidity inside the G/R is around 50% at present. the temp in the G/R is 75-80 degrees. to lower the humidity and temp in the PROP i can open the lid bit by bit as and when needed. the light is a 400w hps which is 3ft from the top of the PROP and 3ft 3" from the top of the pot inside. i very carefully scraped the soil to check on the progress of the seedling and im pleased that the tap root in now approx 1" long so i carefully covered her back up.
my next update and pics will be when she pops her head out of the soil.

please welcome my new baby, this little 1 has just opped out this morning into this big bad world lol. i have equalled the temps & humidity in the prop and G/R so i can remove the PROP completely in the next day or 2. this is 4 days from starting to germ the seed till its popped out the soil.

hi all, just a quick update for you. i am germing 2 G13 haze seeds also to add to my G/R. i have been trying to reed up on the afghan #1 x bigbud and the reviews aint that good ( good job i didnt pay for them lol ), must be something to do with the bigbud cross, so when they pop i'll start a new journal for them. any comments, advice or questions always welcome.

hi again, here is my baby now 2 days old. the first pic was taken yesterday as ( hopefully ) she started to wake lol. the second pic is of her enjoying the rays from the hps lol. of the 2 g13 seeds i started to germ yesterday 1 has cracked open so far, so by the and of today or tomorow morning they will both be put into soil hopefully, then i'll start a new journal for them.

here are some more pics of the lil one, its now 1" tall and ive lowered the light down 6" and put a fan close to the plant to keep it cool, this is the compost i use through out the whole grow, i get it from my local B&Q. i have just started another journal for my unknown G13 grow to which the link is in my signature.

the seedling is doing fine although its growing about half an inch a day, its 1 & 1/2" high now, i lowered the light abit more and moved the fan closer so its sat in a nice gentle breeze now. which will not only keep it from burning but strengthen the stem. the second pic is my homemade fully adjustable pc cooling fan lol, not the best looking design but it works lol.
