Hi RIU !

After half a grow that was unsuccessful (I finished off 2 plants that needed to be moved out of a friends apartment) , I have decided to go with autos for my second real grow.

This text is from another post that I started. I decided to turn it into a grow journal. Hope you all like it !

I am growing in an unused bathroom where the temperature is cool all throughout the year. I have a radiator in the room in case the temperatures drop down. I also have a medium sized extractor fan sucking up stale air. I have 2 passive intakes on the floor which were originally water drainage holes. I have a small fan blowing in the room to have some air circulation.

On October 4, I put my seeds (2 Lowlife Auto AK47-fem, 1 Haze Automatic-fem, 1 Roadrunner-fem, 2 Pink Heirloom Tomatoes and 2 Spanish Tomatoes) in between 2 wet paper towels and waited for them to germinate.
On October 5, half of them started to sprout and I thought I would plant them the next day.
But the next day, I had an emergency travel I had to make and I was out of the city. When I was back on October 7, some of the sprouts had reached the length of almost an inch and a half, though not too straight which was good.
I took great care planting them in jiffy pots 2 inch jiffy pots and none of them were harmed.
The only one that did not germinate was a Spanish tomato seed.

It has been 6 days since they were put in jiffy pots and there is one plant that is supposed to be a Spanish tomato that looks an awfully lot like cannabis !! :-P

I am practically a noob but my guess is none of the 2 Spanish tomato seeds popped and I miraculously had a twin sprout from a seed!! At the time of planting the 2 sprouts -which I though were different plants- were very close to each other. So that's my theory of the twin sprouts

6 Day old seedlings:

This is the one (Auto AK47) that had the seedcap stuck until I removed it. The cotyledon was stuck in between the seed shell.

And here is the mystery sprout:

This is the grow environment:
IMG_3257.jpgIMG_3237.jpgIMG_3242.jpgIMG_3252.jpgIMG_3251.jpgIMG_3253.jpgIMG_3256.jpg

Any and all posts with opinions are welcome !
Thanks :weed:

PS: I remember someone being ticked off by my nickname containing the word fed in there. :-P Well it's got nothing to do with feds. Think of a name...that's all I'll say.

Day 9 - October 16

I transplanted them to 8 liter pots and provided each of them with their own CFLs.
Foliar feeding BioBizz Root Juice at 1/4 strength. And now they're in BioBizz All-Mix soil. I did not take them out of their jiffy pots just planted them whole.

Here is the situation:

Day 11 - October 18

I cut the lights from 24/0 to 20/4.

Gave them a light feed of BioBizz Fish-Mix (1/8 strength)
The Roadrunner seems to be taking off FAST! And the mystery twin is getting healthier everyday.

Day 14 - October 21

My babies are exactly 2 weeks old today and I haven't watered since last update. They still seem perky. Roadrunner is still a couple of days ahead of the others. The Auto AK47 #1 is trying to catch up though. The others are well established but just behind in general. All plants don't seem to be stretching much so I'm happy  And I hope the jiffy pots will dissolve on time.

The other day I caught a itsy-bitsy spider walking on the side of the pot. I don't think it was a spider mite but it was pretty damn small and got me worried. Did not look like a friendly bug. I have the Neem Azal T/S ready I might spray em next week if I see anything underneath the leaves. I am just paranoid about bugs !

Well, without further ado here are some shots: :-P

This Roadrunner babe is becoming a monster:

Here is the Auto AK47 #1 trying to catch up: (poor baby has a mutant leaf with only 2 blades- I think it's because it had the seed husk stuck to its cotyledon and first leaves as baby)

Here is the Haze Auto - I like the internode spacing on this one. Real tight:

Here is the Auto AK47 #2, a bit behind its sister and with the same mutant leaves, what's up with this strain????:

Aaand, the Mystery Twin: (it really is still a mystery to me how I got this 5th plant out of 4 seeds !! There was a seedless sprout all the way away from the other sprouts in between the paper towels.. Has anyone ever had this before :?:)

nice start how do u like the bio bizz?
Thanks bro.

Well I don't know yet. We'll see. Only feed I gave them was when they were in the jiffy - 1 ml/1L Root Juice. Didn't seem to hurt them. At least I didn't burn 'em ! :)

And I gave them 1/8 strength fish mix last week. Since I haven't watered them yet this week I don't know. But I'm thinking of giving them 2ml/1L Fish-mix and 0.5ml/1L Root Juice this week. I will switch to Bloom nutes at week 4.

Light-Mix did seem to do them well when they were seedlings. After they grow their roots a bit more downwards they will start getting a taste of the All-Mix and we'll have a better idea of the BioBizz stuff then... I like the organic idea. I hope it effects the taste at harvest in a positive way. I smoked some chemical nute grows and most tasted a bit harsh compared to some high end stuff. Maybe they weren't flushed properly.

Day 17 - October 24

Just a quick photo update. Everything is going well. There is skunk smell in the room though. Pretty strong for veg state. I dug my nose into all the plants and each and everyone of them are giving out a strong skunk scent except the Auto AK47's. They have no smell whatsoever.

Roadrunner is still the winner.

Here they are in order:

1- Auto AK47 #1
2- Auto AK47 #2
3- Haze Auto
4- Roadrunner
5- Mystery Twin

I haven't watered them since 10 days !!!! :!::!::!:

Day 20 - October 27

All plants showed sex and developed their first preflower pistils. So I have put them under 2700K lights and gave them a feed of 1ml/L Root Juice 1ml/L Fish-Mix and 1ml/L BioBloom.

I made a light fixture today that can hold 7 lamps. I am using 2x32 watt 2700K CFLs, 3x20 watt 2700K CFLs and 2x65 watt 2700K CFLs.

I found this Philips 65 watter and I'm surprised by the size of it:

And here are some photos of the plants :weed::

How much do you think these girls would stretch during flowering? Any opinions?

Day 25 - November 1

Here are some photo updates for the quietest grow journal ever to come upon RIU :wall:

Things are going well. There is only a minor heat issue with the Roadrunner but I backed off the lights and it should be fine. Both the Haze Auto and the Mystery Twin are stretching like a sativa so I'm thinking the twin is Haze's sister.

AK47's are bushy as hell and the healthiest looking plant is Roadrunner since the begining.

In order:
1. Auto AK47 #1
2. Auto AK47 #2
3. Roadrunner
4. Haze Auto
5. Twin Sister of Haze Auto

And here is a baby bud for viewing pleasure :-P

Looks great so far man! We are on almost the same schedule, i was vegging my plants for 2 months and started flowering on Oct. 20th. Although i dont have any auto-flowering strains, I have 4 early feminized xxx super skunks and an unknown sex green goo sprout. Our buds look pretty close to the same size though. Check out my grow:

Its been pretty quiet on my journal so far

Day 33 - November 9

Flushed them each with 16 liters of water.
Let it dry a bit for 3 days then I watered them with Lime water at ph7.0
and then I fed them the regular BioBizz nutes plus Epsom Salts.

The main problem seemed like a nutelock due to pH which locked Ca, and that resulted in Mg and Fe deficiencies. Phew ! I hope that's sorted out now. At least the leaves don't look any worse since the flush.
