Captains pc case 70w CMH perpetual 12/12 from seed

Hello RIU welcome to my grow journal, My 70w cmh parts turned up today so didnt hang around getting it all fitted Its quite a small case so im still on the look out for a larger one but if this one gives me enough bud i will prob just keep this.

Temps are at low 80s so far after it being ran for 2 hours im expecting them to creap up a bit more but im gonna be checking it every hour to be sure. the ballast bulb and fitting came to £34 inc postage so a really cheap awesome upgrade and im loving how bright it is and the colour it produces.

First plants are a nirvana white widow and a bagseed from some dutch passion but not sure which one, so from now im gonna be planting a feminised seed every 25-30 days to make this perpetual i need around 14 grams a month which is plenty to keep me in smoke, i have a dutch passion blueberry ready to germ when the time comes

Im using westlands advance plus without any perlite as it has a great structure without and biobizz nutrients and some canna pk13/14.

Hello everyone and great to see you all very pleased with the cmh upgrade and after 12 hours of running it went no higher than 83f! That's without a glass screen so could get them to drop even more if I wanted to but I'm happy with that, I read that ths bulb boasts 6400 lumens and is the 3000k version, even the 119w of cfls was hotter then that! That's why I went with the 70w instead of the 100w version because indidnt want any high temp problems and it will be super efficient

I was thinking that with this bulb I could hit the 1 gram per watt. A 2 plant scrog in there with a 2 week veg I reckon it could be done just think i would only need 70grams of bud!! May want to try that in the future but for now perpetual is the game

Will do jr I'm gonna do hella lot of picture updates I love taking macro shots.

Forot to add that the reflector was made from an old flood light that was outside and hasn't worked for years, and I don't have the proper g12 bulb fitting so I've just used a couple electrical clamps it should be here in a day or two

Subbed for this one, I just know its going to be good. That little cmh looks the business in there. Is that the same as V12 uses? Cheap too. Much wiring required ? Reflector looks good . I might have to look into those bulbs myself but I'm hopeless when it comes to anything electrical if it requires wiring! Anyway, cant wait to watch this develop, and as V12 has proved to all of us it is perfectly possible to grow solid 'Red Bull' can sized buds in a PC case given skill and understanding of the plant. Personally I think that the PC case grows are the answer to self supply for so many people potentially, and so very stealthy

good to see you MS im hoping im gonna rock this case with that bulb in there and im looking forward to watching the bud its gonna produce should be hell of a lot of bud porn to come.

Yes its the same as v12 uses 3000k but just 70w instead of the 100w, With the 70w i dont have to worry about the heat as its cooler then the 5 23w cfls i had in there! alot cooler, v12 said it would be a good choice he also pointed me in the right direction for the ballast it was only £15 but he said they are normally £80 so it was a proper bargain thanks again v12 we all know he still lurks RIU

Got a lot of learning to do with things such as pot sizes and stuff but im gonna stick with the smallest pots i can, the pot thats housing the WW is tiny but we will see i'd say its smaller than a party cup!! i will get some photos later with a tape measure in view to give you all a idea of how small everything is.

And im looking forward to red bull can size buds

those small cups will work great, but you will have to remember to water more frequently.

At the moment they are lasting a couple days without watering but once the plants get bigger im prepared to water twice a day if they need it

online mate they are readily available at just about every online store stocks them, also a certain type of ballast which i had to have someone show me as i didnt have a clue!

Ok; If your having to water twice a day in soil then you have a problem. Either your plants are root bound or the medium drains water too quick without holding any behind.
Anyway, watering soil Twice daily is bad.

Maybe aim some of your dedication to research

no, no!! i mentioned to him that he could grow nice plants in small cups too. but it will require more waterings, up to 2 per day during flowering. that is based on watching other small container grows, like party cups. he said just a post or 2 above yours they need water every couple days now.
