4 Kannabia from Attitude under LEDs started 9/12/2010

Planted the first two Sunday 9/12/10, they popped on Tuesday, on Wednesday planted two more. 45-watt glowlight and 2 red LED spotlights.

These are Kannabia (whatever that is), ordered from Attitude (5) with 1 free UFO auto and shirt, cost about $70 with shipping here to the states.

I have never grown auto before, so I'm excited. I will be putting these in the sun on the weekends once they get bigger and they're in pots.

Pics soon.

The first pic is the girls (these are all feminized auto-bloom Kannabia) in their lil grow nets. Next pic shows them in the pots. I'm using Miracle Gro Organic Choice Potting Soil. It's very mild. After this, I put them back under the LEDs and adjusted the height. On weekends and when I can risk it I'll be putting the girls under sunlight, as well.

I am doing something different on this grow, a very small change but which I think may make a huge difference.

The last grow was pretty good, I harvested plenty of buds but when I went back to look at the roots of those grows, I noticed something strange: there was a fine network of roots running along the bottom of the grow soil, but when I broke it up, there was nothing in the middle. It was as if the roots had gone to the side, followed the side of the container, hit the bottom, and continued spreading along the bottom. There was nothing going directly down from the bottom of the plant.

When I observed the netting, the small plug which I use to start all the seeds, it was very hard. In fact, the bottom was so hard, the roots had never penetrated and come out the bottom. They had all come out the side, and wimpy roots at that.

Even before I discovered that, for some reason, this time I chose to take off the netting. I think before, I had moved the plants to pot so soon that I was afraid to remove the netting for fear of breaking the soil ball.

So I am expecting that this time I will have a much stronger root system. In fact, last grow, I had to grow them WAY longer than I should have, at least two times as long before harvest, maybe three-- it was almost six months before harvest. I am wondering how much the weak root system had to do with that. We shall see.

It's been 2 weeks since I planted these girls, and their time to harvest is 9-10 weeks. I can never remember if the 9 weeks is after they start budding, or from the time they pop. At any rate, it certainly shouldn't be 6 months.

This is my first time growing auto.

Comments are welcome, but please don't tell me to get different lights. We're stuck with this, for various reasons and it's worked before.

The areas where I tend to have challenges are nuting and watering, though I now have a regimen for that, which seems to work: 7 oz of water for each plant, every 2-3 days. It's hot here and by watering a small, specific amount, it dries out quickly. And for nutes I just put a drop of 10/15/10 in the 7 oz water.

But I'm sure there are better ways to bloom than that, it's just that that's proven safe, every time.

If anyone has any experience with the smoke from this DNA or with grow tips particular to auto, feel free to comment-- I couldn't find any of the big name autos (they're always sold out) and these (whatever Kannabia is) seemed to be middle-of-the-road, at about $43/5 seeds.

I took these shots yesterday and the little droopy one just needed a lil water (6 oz), she's fine, today.

But. Has anyone grown this strain of auto before? These hardly look like pot to me, more like strawberries or something. I've never grown auto before, I understand that the indica influence would lend to fatter, lower-growing plants... but I'm not seeing the typical 5-star leaf. Or maybe the first leaves don't form the five-star pattern, yet?

Okay, here's what the Kannabia site says on Flash Auto (now I remember why I liked it: robust-- and it is, this is the strongest grower I've had, yet). My favorite part is the last line of the description, LOL!

It is a very easy plant to crop and it will be ready to harvest after about 7-8 weeks of flowering. The cross with White Domina makes Flash more stable while, the Afghan phenotype, brings robustness in its form (highly resistant to pests) and psychoactive elements.

When you work with auto-flowering plants you need to know that they need a lot of light from the first transplant (more than 18 hours are recommended) and the use of a substrate that helps the roots development, to maximize the results. If the substrate is airy, instead of a very compact one, the plant will grow higher and faster (hydroponic systems are the optimum to obtain the best results in this range).

The plant is adapt to all conditions and we recommend the outdoor cultivation during the spring, the summer and the fall, even the summertime is when it reaches its best results.
The cross with White Domina brings you a very sweet taste (in combustion) and psychoactive effects quite high for an auto-flowering variety.
Also the production is affected by the White Domina presence: between 35-70 grams per plant.

Without you will notice it, Flash will save you from the apathy, becoming your hero!!
