Well this is my starting point!! Im pretty excited. First timer here!

I ve ordered some seeds, (from a reputible source).

I am starting them in peet pucks, in white plastic cups with a seedling heat mat and they are covered in plastic wrap (I did order a humidity dome but that was two weeks ago and it still hasn't shown!!) so I figured this will do for now.

I have a 4 ft fluoro which holds 2 t8 32w bulbs giving off aprox 2700 lumens each and it is on 24hrs/day.

Once they sprout an inch or two I will get myself a 250/400w hps light.

My room is 40" high by 48" long and 30" deep.

Im wondering if a 400w hps is too much for the hieght of the room?, It might burn the plants?.

Any suggestions or comments??

well, its been about 20 hrs since I dropped the un-girminated seeds into the peat pellets and Im starting to see life!!! just starting to crack and grow (on five). Im going to keep the light and mat on 24hrs with the plastic wrap on for a while still. I'll post some pics if there is some more noticeable growth.

BTW, I should mention, I'm only doing this for fun/personal so anything I get from it will be a complete success!

I also ordered a new light tday, a 250 hps along with a mh conversion bulb.
the MH is supposed to produce around 25000 lumens which I will be using for veggin' and the HPS is supposed to produce around 32000 lumens which I will use for flowering.
I think I'll have to make another cabinet for my 4ft fluoro so I can keep the strains going with some clones.
Am I right for uses for those lights???

I think you're on the right track, but this is my first grow too! I did plenty of reading and research and mine are doing okay.

I am getting a 250w HPS at the end of this month, my space is 2' deep, 4' wide and about 5' high.

What strain did you order? I just ordered Satori, Sadhu and feminized Nebula from mandalaseeds.com. Got my fingers crossed! yet another waiting game!!

PS can you tell me about the conversion bulb? I wonder if I can use something similar in my hydrofarm 250w HPS, don't have it yet but at month's end.

Well its been 2 full days now since I dropped my lil' ungirminated seeds into the peet pellets and Im 10 for 12!!! only have two that haven't sprrouted so I couldnt be happier! I have kept the light on em' 24/7, along with a heat mat under em', and plastic wrap over em'. Seems to be working out pretty well so far.
Im not going to transfer them until I see roots coming out the sides of the peet. Is this a good idea??? will they be getting enough nutes from the peet alone?? or should I get some sorta nutrient for the little babies??
