Hello, community! I'm back again to lay out my setup and growing strategy. This time with a new strain from seed. Its a cross of Grand daddy purple and Purple Erkle. I found a couple of seeds from some good indoor buds at a dispensary. Not high grade, but a heavy smooth hitter. From 3 ounces i only found 2 seeds. Now its time to try them out and see what we get.
As for my grow setup, i'm running two 150Hps light fixtures, with one intake fan and one exhaust fan. I also have clones in a two box setup with one 42 watt CFL, covered with gift wrap from within. For soil, I use Scotts Potting soil, perlite, and Peat Moss, with a 1/3 mixing of each. For fertilizers, I use the Fox Farm Trio, along with Cal-Mag and some Sweet. I water atleast twice a week and i always fertilize, keeping my plants overfed but being careful not to burn them. I also am trying to LST or Bending back branches and topping, so i can get a better top outcome and heavier bud sets. I try keeping my grow tent clean and bug free, by washing weekly around the inside and out of the growing area. I also have All Seasons spray for bugs and GreenCure fungicide for diseases. Spraying down the plant oftenly will prevent bugs from holding a colony in the beginning, so keeping maintenance is the main key to prevention. And also, my grow room maintains a temp between 74 and 80 degrees tops and between 50-60% humidity. The water i use is reverse osmosis.

You have a very nice start there. I'm curious to see how the boxes work for you. I subscribed in case you decide to keep the post up to date. Another guy started a similar grow method but quit posting after his initial post.

I've used that box setup for over a year already. No problems what so ever. Only for cloning and vegging. The plant right there was vegged in there for about a month, slowly. I have it vegging in my grow tent now.

Post **Grand Daddy Purple X Purple Erkle** a.k.a Purple G

After two weeks from switching over to the grow tent and transplanting, I can now easily stlye my plant the way I want it to grow. The light cycle for now is 16/8, I could do 24/7, but like most I'm also trying to save electricity. Even 18/6, but it depends on your speed of growing. Sometimes i get soo busy i dont have time, or too tired to train my plant. I don't keep record of my Vegatation growth until I'm ready to flower. I stunt the growth so i can train it and bring out the bottom stems. I'm trying to master my technique at a slow pace to do my own experiments and get my own data. It's like being at peace in mind. Well, here is my updated grow.

Exclamation **Grand Daddy Purple X Purple Erkle** a.k.a Purple G

I started flowering 9/13, after some cloning and training. It's not always the same for each plant. Depending on what strain it is, you have to keep an eye out because it can over grow rather quickly to reach towards the light. I cloned around four from the bottom, did some bending and then after awhile I topped it and cloned it, too. As you can see, all my clones lived and the top was the best one so I kept that one to flower next. I use my regular feeding schedule and an occasional, pure water at times to flush the nutes out. I try to feed the flowering G every watering, but I also try not to burn it. I usually give pure water for vegging and clones. No nutes till i start flowering. My Purple G had the strongest smooth smelling vegative stage that stank like dank. But now in flowering, it doesn't smell that strong, or am I just immune to the greenery. I also have a cloning box that keeps the humidity perfect and my clones livin. I also made a cold air intake to blow cold air into the grow room, over the lights, using a vaccuum filter hooked up to a 6" fan duct. My temps stay below 80 degrees, lights on, and no more than 68 degrees, lights off. I watch it everyday when it stats flowering, because thats when the real stretching happens. Any branch that gets too tall, I try to down grade it by expanding it to the side, or a lil bending. Tieing it over is also good. Be rough with your plant, but don't abuse it too much. What doesn't kill it, makes it stronger.

Thumbs up **Grand Daddy Purple X Purple Erkle** a.k.a Purple G

The Purple G is on its half way mark for flowering. At four weeks old, its getting very hairy and crystals are starting to emerge. As for the top clone, It is beside the main Purple G in the flower chamber. I might clone it again and top that one as well. The growth will stop, extending the flowering time and for the bottom stems to out grow there counter parts. For the new seed sprout, I will cut, bend and clone that one, too. My next grow will be Purple Diesel. I've saved that seed from some great Organic Purple Diesel about a year and a half ago. Very good buds and only one seed. I gave a few of my clones to local dispensaries to see if they can prolong and improve these genetics. I once had a seed from some very heavy and tastiest Chem Dog 91'. It's was like no other. I had one plant, 22in. tall, in a 3 gal. pot, fox farm nutes, self made soil mix, 150hps, and yielded over three ounces of fat dense juicy nuggety buds. OG Kush had nothin on this. And all the chem dogs I've tried. My second seed I found turn to be a male Chem Dog 91'. I called around but no one wanted it. It was a very small seed that I saved for two years and it still sprouted. A legend pasted upon. I had no where to put it and no one wanted it. So be it. Well, I'll post up some more pics after a week or two. Lates!
