Hello RIU! :)

Was at my hydro store yesterday to pick some things up and saw a few boxes that had just been delivered from FloraCorp. I had seen the logo and recognized one of the pictures on the box as THE BEAST, an alleged Phosphoload substitute, minus the PGR. Long story short, the boxes had the full line of NUTRI+ nutrients and additives that the distributor had dropped off as a sample and I asked hydro guy if I could give it a swing since I have a couple of experimental rooms and one was just going to get some transplant loving tonight!

Free nutes = game on :joint:

The room is fitted with the POS C.A.P Ebb and Suck 12 bucket system. This thing is a complete pain in the ass to put together because the connectors are shit and the tubing that it comes with pretty much follows suit. I've used it once before while trying a 4 plant grow from some mother plants that I didn't wanna toss so I decided to SCROG them. At any rate, the room is ~12x10x7.5

The Ladies:
1 x Purple AK-47
1 x Santa Cruz Kush
4 x The Purps
4 x Pine OG
2 x Master Kush

Hardware:
C.A.P Ebb and Grow 12 Bucket System (dunno why mine came in white with blue res)
7 x Storm Deluge (had some left over from the first use of this system, rest of the buckets will be hydroton)
2 x Lumatek 1000w Ballasts
2 x Hortilux 1000w MH (veg) and 2 x Hortilux 1000w HPS (flower)
2 x Sunmaster cheap hoods
6" Vortex 449cfm for hoods
8" S&P fan on an Active Air charcoal filter
IGS-061 co2 controller + 20# tank
12,500 BTU LG A/C

Software:
Entire line of Nutri+ Base and Additives plus DripClean from H&G. They have a feed chart online and a slightly different version that was in the box and the bottles say something different than either of the other things. Awesome! All the specific info on each one can be found here. I'm going to post up a bunch of pics and then try to discuss each nutrient in posts following this one.

Here's some Nutes -

And some more Nutes -

Here's the buckets and lights before I put new HydroFarm 1/2" vinyl on.

And after:

Ladies after innoculation of 70% Neem Oil + Penetrator and Safer Fungicide Soap w/ 12% sulfer.

Fresh Transplants -

I'm going to try and be consistent with my postings as I'd like a detailed record of the grow so I can provide feedback to my hydro guy. All comments are welcomed in this thread as I'm too lazy to make a second one for discussion.

Thank you guys! Glad you can join.

We mixed a rez last night and set the timer on the CAP controller for every 8 hours while the 24 hours of veg. I'm feeding them @ 12am, 8am and 4pm. My plants have all been pre-vegged before going under the MH bulbs. From clone in 2" rockwool cubes I transplant them to 3x3x3 rockwool cubes and keep them under HydroFarm's 4 bulb T5 fixture until they're about 12" tall before transplanting. I really like putting that extra root mass on the plants before putting them under any HID lighting. Plus, with the level of production growing that I'm trying to accomplish, shaving that extra time from HID veg is really helpful. My other gardens are running 9 plants per 4x4 under 1k watts. This Ebb and Grow room is basically a test room where I can try different nutes and strains and not slow down the production gardens.

Now for the rez, we use a TallBoy water filter to kill the chlorine in the water and oddly enough, that's exactly what the Nutri+ asks for - dechlorinated water.

Rez is filled with 30 gallons

For the most part, we used this feed chart as a guideline:

Grow A 5-0-2 @ 120 ml
Grow B 1-5-8 @ 120 ml

The 2 part grow is allegedly made from RO water and has a 0 EC. A lot of potassium in a grow formula from what I've used before. In fact, the grow nutes have less Nitrogen and more Phosphorus than the bloom nutes. I guess they're holding to the P = More ROOOOTS!

Start @ 360 ml

Here's a link to Start. The bottle claims after soaking rockwool for cuttings, you don't need to use gels or powders. HAH! I do enjoy the "RESPECT suggested application rates". Once again, high Phosphorus content for the root production.

Thrive @ 360 ml

Here's the Thrive link. Seems like a B1 and Seaweed mix. I normally use SuperThrive for my B vitamin needs, and have only used seaweed as a pre-phosphoload gig. In another garden I have switched to the full House and Garden line which has some algen extract that is used during veg. After I get a grow done with it, I might post a journal on the next one if I keep H&G around.

Black @ 360 ml

Gold @ 120 ml

Black and Gold are just labeled as "Compatible with all mineral and organic nutrients". Black is 0-1-2 and Gold is 0-2-1. Gold is supposed to be used as a foliar spray as well, during weeks 1-6 of flower. (Spray lightly. Avoid soaking flowers.) I think I'll just avoid spraying during 12's.

After mixing, pH was @ 5.85 so I'm not mad @ no adjusting.

The first 24 hours I keep the lights at max distance just to ease the plants in a tiny bit. I dropped the lights earlier tonight to about 10" above them.

Will post more updates in a day or so as growth progresses. Feel free to ask any questions.

Im glad to see a nice detailed journal!
So you got these nutes for free from your hydro shop dealer?
It it a full organic line up?
How much would the full line up cost if you had to buy it?

Yeah hydro guy hooked it up for me to try these out.

They're not organic, mostly derived from the same stuff that every other nutrient line is but I guess their process and ingredients are supposed to be top notch. Or at least that's what rep guy tells hydro guy :D

Hydro guy says he needs to figure out retail pricing but MSRP puts the box of goodies around $450.00.

Pics to follow today after the spray down with GREEN.

I have a grow going on with my old nutes in another garden but it's @ day 17 of flower. I've used Cutting Edge Solutions for the last 2 years and have a pretty good idea of their results so a comparison, while not side by side, should still be easy to do.

I noticed them drooping a bit today and decided to cut the feedings down to twice a day. I'll get some pics up later after their foliar feeding.

I normally use H&G's Roots Excelurator through week 3 or 4 of flowering, but with this test run I'm going with just the Nutri+ line and only adding Drip Clean from H&G. Apparently the Thrive+ (link) has a bit of B vitamins and the Black+ (link) has claims for improving the rhizosphere efficiency.

Thanks for dropping in!

Been busy with the other grows. Plants were still pretty droopy so I backed the feedings off to 1x a day for now. Will try and get some pics up every couple of days so everyone can see progress.

Oh sorry!!!!

Pain in the ass to do the RIU journal.

http://www.youtube.com/user/slumptelli

I have 3 other gardens so the mixed strain that I started in this thread went to hell because I just didn't have the time to give it the attention it needed :D I re-rolled with all purple diesels.

I have a 4k watt (purple diesel / da purps / grandaddy purple) and another 2k watt (9 purple diesel in a 4x4 vs 25 purple diesel SOG - side by side tester) starting up within a week and will be documenting them on youtube as well.
