Default 1st Grow, 8x 4' t5 fluorescent's. Four plants two WW/NL & two Cali Skunk/Thai Stick.
This is my first grow. I dident take picture's of full grow progress but today I took some pictures of them for first time. I'm about one week into flowering.

I have two "crystal plants" its a cross strain of white widow and northern lights. Two cross strain of Thai Stick and California Skunk. Four out of four I germinated where all female.

My setup is a Hydrofarm brand t5 fixture with eight four foot t5 54w 6500k high output bulbs. I planted in a mix of perlite, peat moss, and "supersoil" brand soil.

Timeline:

Oct 1st - Planted germinated seeds in soil.
During this time I used 2x 4' t8's for veg I dident upgrade lights till later on. Im suprised how fast they grew for weak lighting I had. The T8's where only 32w each.

Nov 7th - Changed light cycle to 12/12 and got 8x 4' t5 fixture.

Nov 10th - Watered with some Botanicare pure blend pro bloom soil formula nutrients. (1 tbsp per gallon)

Nov 13th - Took picture's today.

Default Two Questions
Good results. I have two questions:

Nice fixture. How much money?

Is your T5 tube a single phosphor color or one of the new multi color bulbs for greenhouses?

Not yet. The blubs I have are hydrofarm high output 54w 6500k t5's. The store I got fixture from threw them in with it for free. He said for the warmer color (3000k) he would have to order them for me @ 16.00 each. Im probably going to order some Agromax warm color ones for 10.00 each from HTC instead. I wonder how much of a differance it would make for flowering 8x 6500k ones I have now VS 4x 6500k and 4x 3000k. I could even go 8x warm colored ones for flowing if I wanted to.

I got it for 250.00 with the bulbs thrown in.

Not to sure if its single phosphor or multi but I know they are high output Hydrofarm brand bulbs designed for growing. I would assume Hydrofarm probably has phillips or someone else make the bulbs for them but Im not sure.

Mix the bulbs 1/2 red 1/2 blue asap. Get four of the red bulbs now. Tell your hydro shop they are making a mistake by not offereing a choice of bulbs. Check out the details if you like. I have posted picture and such in my thread, My current setup; Journal. VV

I was told that there are some new multi layer phosphor bulbs that hit several key color points. And this this technology is becoming popular in commersial green houses, since it eliminates bulb changes for growth stages.

Hope someone who has used the new T5s will post.

i have the bulbs you are talking about, they claim they have a wider spectrum of light that the plant uses,i dont know how true this is,i have not seen a great differance from the t8s but i have seen a differance,i only tried them for 4 weeks in flowering and switched back to the hps for flowering because i didnt like the results, they looked a week and a half behind from when i used the hps,but i like the nice tight nodes in vegging,i have not seen some one do a comparison of grams per watt under a t5 and grams per watt under a 600 or 1000.plus in winter i need the heat big time, but some people sware that the t5s are more efficient then an hps but i have not found that to be true.but it depends on your setup.
