Subs 2010 Organic Outdoor Grow - White Widow, Hollands Hope & Schweed
Sup all, long time no speak...
I'm hoping for a nice summer this year and started my plants off a tad late due to the cold conditions. I've got GHS feminized Hollands Hope and White Widow, i'm hoping the HH won't succum to any mould later in the year due to its succes in holland (similar latitude to me) and mould resistant genetics.
Turned out that i had left my Schwede seeds (unknown strain my friend named, grows to around 10 foot, with truly huuge dank sativa/indica cross colas), in a pocket and yup, sure enough they went through the washing machine. Germ'd them anyway and they sprouted yesterday which i wasn't expecting, so yah hopefully that has toughened them up heh.
- I've got them under 80 watts of mixed spectrum clfs, 24/0. And i germ'd them on the 30th of april, i take them outside every couple of days to avoid any transplant shock int he future.
- Soil that consists of my own mix; local shop bought organic compost, homemade 2 yr old compost and John Innes potting soil.
- Started feeding with a tea made of organic rooting hormone, molasses, seaweed extract and 6.2 / 5.2 / 5.2 organic nute. I alternate this daily with water.
- Got some CO2 on the go, in true ghetto style. For anyone who cares it's made with; brewers yeast, cane sugar, yeast nutrient (increases fermentation) and lemon juice.
- Temps don't really go over 77f.
Anything i've missed, just shout.
Here's the pics; they are approx 13 days from breaking the soil.
temporary cab, it's 99% lightproof.

WW, smallest of the lot:

The topped HH, stunted it's growth a bit but its all good now.

The strongest HH

nice internode growth for 13 days old under cfls right?

anyways, they'll be going outside permanently when the weather is much more reliable... and when they have a bit more height on them. cheers for reading.

These spots showed up the other day, this leaf was pretty close to the light and it might have been wet, so it may just be light magnified thru water droplets, but i'm not sure.... anyone know?

the WW (left) has suddenly overtaken the other 2 , has less nodes, but huge leaves in comparison. i'm still waiting for the topped hh to show its results fully.
safe to say u can see the the indica dom side in all of these.

my cfls were hanging downward which is the least light emitting position when positioned above the plants, so i made a new reflector with mount for them in the horizontal position, i can now raise the lights much more.... and get to my plants without burning my fingertips.
for those who are interested, i made it out of some 0.5mm sheet steel, and a set of sprung tool holders, both just bent by hand. ii then bound it all together tight with XL zip ties. works like a charm.
all together, with hooks, chains etc.. it came to only £9.50, and it has the potential to accomodate up to 7 cfls or some HID.

As for my passive outtake, it's been replaced with a 5 inch, 5 watt inline fan, this allows the new reflectors extra heat output to be negated and then some.

For your cfl's are you using cfl lead plugs that plug into the wall?
