Hey everyone, thank you for checking out my thread! :joint:

I am doing my first grow with my fiance, and we are pretty pumped about it.

We are growing a few Big Bud seeds, and a SAGE clone. So far we had a mishap with the seeds, so we will be planting them again as soon as they germinate.

The S.A.G.E. clone we have is doing really well, so I decided to start LST.

We are using FFOF soil and t5 lighting with 6500k CFL's as side lighting.

Watering every 5-6 days, or sooner if the soil dry's up.

We have exhaust and intake venting, with temps ranging from 75-82. Humidity looks to be stable at 50% give or take a few %.

As for nutes, I am using seaweed/kelp, i use it atm at 10% strength. Foliar fed.

It is important to us that we do it right, so I will be checking these forums a few times a day trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can.

Thanks again for checking this out!

Looks good! Do you have a way to test ppm and ph? If not I would strongly advise buying those. If you can, I would definitely scrog your sage plant to maximize yield. You've created a perfect base for it with the lst you've done. Build a screen the dimensions of the the light and you can scrog it perfectly underneath that t5. Here's how I did a previous plant of mine:

End result of that grow was 7.5 oz DRY out of a screen that was 18 inches wide and 24 inches long under a 400 watt in dwc.

At the moment the only Nutes I am using is Sea Weed extract. And right now I only have about a drop of it mixed into a spray bottle, in which I administer foliar feedings. When I water I just use ph'd tap water.

Really hoping to see the 3 clones start acclimating to my setup, and probably start nutes in a week.

Sounds like you're off to the right start. I personally put my clones at half strength nutes right away. Shortly after (1 week) I give them full strength. Im not a soil guy, but I would assume its similar. Those clones should love it.

wow, nice 7.5 oz dry...:weed:

I will definitely start reading up on scog right now.

Thanks for the pics!
No problem :eyesmoke:

Good to hear you're looking into the scrog its definitely the most effective way to grow. If you have any other questions feel free to hit me up via pm.

Update:

Me and the fiance talked it over, we've decided to go full on with Technique: Screen of Green! :leaf::leaf::leaf:

Tomorrow we will hit up the Lowe's/Home depot and try to create 2 screens.

Will update with pics later.

I assure you, the extra few weeks of veg time more than make up for the yield you will get. Smart decision. Try and go with holes atleast 2" x 2". The smaller chicken fencing like I used had too small of holes which made it a pain to scrog plus the buds started eating the screen! Lol. I found it easiest, and cleaner, to use small zip ties to secure the plant to the screen rather than bread ties although bread ties can be had for free at any vegetable section of the grocery store. Can't wait to see it! :peace:

Damn dude, the only thing i could get that was remotely reasonable, was this 1"x1" plastic coated wire shit.. Do you think I'm good to go?

sog wire like that is hard for the branches 2 grow through but should work, and what i noticed and wated 2 add is that the mat and the train wreck are sativa, the bubba is full indica whitch means it will be the short and stocky plant, if u train the sativas during flowering it would work great or screen the sativas and dont top or stress out the indica let it grow as tall as possible becuase sativas also stretch more then indicas during flower good luck

Update: 4-30-10

Started SCOG method on the SAGE. Let me know if I did anything wrong.

1x1 is a little small, but it should suffice for now. Make sure to tuck the fan leaves back under the screen and leave the bud sites near the surface, as exposed as possible. I would also make that screen bigger so when you flower you don't run outta room. Otherwise you're looking good.

I ended up taking off the screen, I am going to lst the plants until they are a bit bigger. I made more improvements on the setup, will update with pics after I am done.

Nice LST ya got going there. I only have a bit of advice - go to the Depot and get some 12 gauge copper wire to replace the rope. It's a helluva lot easier to manage especially when the ladies start bushing out. And it's cheap - only 26 cents a foot here. I grabbed 30 feet and replaced all my twine with it and am loving how easily I can adjust the growth and wires themselves.
