  • 15 gallon container
  • 2 fixtures = 4 T8 2ft flourestent lights on 18/6 timer (for veg) 12/12 (when i decide to flower)
  • Peters 20-20-20 nutes mixed about 7 tbls to 15 gallons
  • 14' air stone with fish tank pump
  • Oscillating fan
  • hydrotone

Ok so i started out planting them in soil then after about two weeks, right after they sprouted i moved them in to a hydroponic setup and they looked like this....

What's up jon0815? I subscribed to your thread because I'm a newbie to growing and starting 3 babies (I did an extra one just in case) using a PC grow box with a 2-net pots dwc/bubbleponics system. I started my babies in soil as well. I will transplant my girls (hopefully) into the hydro system next Sunday. Did you just put hydroton rocks around your babies roots when you transplanted them, or did you use some other medium around the roots? Also what nutes did you put in the water when you transplanted to hydro? Your girls are looking healthy and took the transplant well! I would like to keep in touch because I can learn from you while you are growing now, like a guide:). Keep up the great work.

Your plants are looking nice man. I just ordered a pre-setup bubbleponics kit...

I was curious to know what temperatures your growing the plants at? (If it really matters a lot..)

also.. you water your plants from below and from on top?

What nutrients are you using for your plants (x-x-x) ? Or is there just a specific nutrient brand you bought... Any help is greatly appreciated, as I will be starting my Op within a few days.

well I water from below and only check my plants about once every 3 days because there not easy to get to so when I do I spray them on top. I'm using peters20-20-20 for veg. It's super cheap and super effective. You can get it at any local garden center for $2. I will most likely flower with green light super bloom 12-55-6 which retails for $7. As you can see I'm just going for cost effective and it's working pretty damn good

Ok so i fell into the temptation and bought a 150 watt HPS fixture.Four plants are doing really well as it is about 4 weeks into veg and starting flowering today but two are pretty small and i dont know what to do with them. I had turned off the lights for a 24 hour period then reset my timer to 12/12 added the HPS light and turned those babies on. these pictures were taken right after the light was installed 1st day of flowering!

How long untill i can determine the sex of these plants?

After about two weeks on 12/12 you should see flowers dude. I noticed that you are wasting heaps of light around your plants. If you had white/silver reflective panels around the box you could utilize a lot more of the lost lumens.
I also noticed that you were using $2 nutes. Growing in a hydroponic/DWC environment your plants lack the many minerals and naturally occurring compounds found in soil. You need to splash out on at least some cheap-ass hydro nutes to keep your plants growing fast and deficiency free. The extra $10 you spend on nutes now will be more than worth it by the end of flowering. What are your PH/EC levels? They are incredibly important for hydroponic/DWC growing. Getting you EC or PH readings too far off and your plants stop growing and/or die relatively quickly.

so four of my plants died because my light timer stoped working and I didn't check my plants for 2 days :(
