Well as alot of you all may know from my previous threads, i have tried several times now tostart a garden. In my previous 3 attempts, the babies never made it out of week 1. Due to several things. Previous grows, ive tried incandescent lights and ton of other non-recomended methods. Now im finally trying to do it some-what rite.

SETUP--------

CLOSET- 2 1/2ft X 2 1/2ft X 10

LIGHTING- 7 cfl's @ 27w(warm) (1850 lumens pr bulb) 1850x7= 12,950 for appox 4,000 lumens pr sq ft for vegging.... for flowering i will be using the same bulbs but will be adding atleast 6 more bulbs and possible side lighting if i can fit that into the budget.

VENTALATION- 2 computer fans circulating air in the closet. Closet is directly nest to a windo, the windo is open 24/7 to allow fresh air in the room and the closet door is normally cracked open to allow the air to vent better.

PLANTS- 8 random bagseeds of all various strains collected over the yrs

MEDIUM- Expert Gardner, Perfect Mix soil 10-8-6 complex

NUTES- basic miricle grow ( yes i no, not highly recomended at all but due to the high nitrogen content, it will be suitable for vegging


So here's the run down on my grow so far. I germinated the seeds withthe "paper towel" method for 2 days,, planted then OCT 10, sprouted on OCT 11.
I try to keep the same watering schedule, every other day around 2-3 pm. and a very light misting from a spray bottle 1-2 times daily. Yesterday the recieved there first official feeding ( and damn did i notice the diff in a 18 hr period, they really came to life). On day 8 i noticed what seemed to be a heat or oxygen depletion problem ( slighly curled crispy feeling leaves, NOT yellow or burned). To remedy that i added 2 ounces of 3% peroxide to 1 gal of water, i watered them properly and raised the cfl setup by 3 inches. Today is day 14. They seem to be doing great in my opinion. For the ramainder of the vegging phase im going to continue to water every other day with a feeding twice weekly. Also im trying to find some "superthrive" in my area to help the growth rate. Sounds awesome, I just started to germinate last night. I guess if everything goes well, we should be around the same harvest time!

thats what i like to hear, i was hoping for a harvest by new yrs eve but i dont think it'll happen now, oh well im still happy with em, check back soon, today is day 14, im in the process ok taking pics as i type. i fed them yesterday, they really came to life overnite

cough.... im dieeeinggg..... i still think it would be a good idea to get the daylight cfls and save those for later. They dont put out as many lumens as warm bulbs so yes obviously the lumen output would seem a bit lacking but theyll work just fine. As for nutes, id get schultz plant foot plus 10-15-10 (drops). Its not expensive at all (less than 10$) and its prolly better for ur plants too. (The powder/crystal form 20-30-20 is only like 4 bucks). Id use the drops tho. 7 lights is enough if u plan on getting more u better be ready to get more fans or a small portable a.c. (Get stronger bulbs thatll reduce the need for more of em.) If your sweating in there already with 7, ull be dying under 13 of them... U should also look into "building" (not buying) a drip irrigation system with timers. With one set-up, u wont need to worry about missing a watering. Ull only have to bother with changing the res every now and then. The more on point your schedule is, the less u and ur plants have to worry about. ^^

well about the drip irrigation, imreally considering making this my last soil grow and make a hydro setup to house 10 plants, with a 50/50 male/female ratio that'll leave me to plants5 good females or so..sounds like my best way to go with my limited space..but thats a few months down the road, need to work on this soil grow 1st. I really dont want to invest to much money into the soil grow if i can help it. This is just to see if i can manage without killing em. Yess there a bit small but there purdy if i can end up with 3 females and 2 oz dried, ILL BE A HAPPY MAN considering the herb i smoke i all midgrade brick or less. Not much good herb in my area and what goodie good i can find is SKY HIGH. this im growing will be by far the best ive smoked im sure. Wont be passed from dealer to dealer, bag to bag. nice and FROSTY im hoping, as well as fresh..ill keep ya'llposted. thnx ev1

10 is a high number for the space u have.

i do have pic premeir, there all in the "gallery" lok to the right of my post, see "gallery with the red number behind it? and yea 10 plants would be alot but at the smae time, once i sex them il be cut down to 5 or 6 im expecting, also i was considering that "string" technique to train the branches to grow a certain way. still afer i do all that, is is possible to fit 5 flowering females in the room?
