I think that's a good idea. Looking at the plant today, it seemed like some buds were still developing, but a few look done. Maybe I'll try to pull a few and let the rest keep going. Thanks for the input.

Lessons learned:
1) A lot of people on here stress the importance of gradually increasing nutrients and usually never reaching the full recommended dosage. There's a reason they stress this.
2) Cannabis can take pretty high temperatures as long as they get plenty of water.
3) If you're going out of town, run your automatic watering system the week before you go; don't wait until the day before to set it up and guess that everything will be alright.
4) Don't mist your plants with a spray bottle. I did not know this.
5) Check for mold in your buds, especially the main colas. I was afraid to touch the buds for fear of messing with the trichs, but mold does a lot more damage than your fingers ever will.
6) Try to find some bagseed if it's your first grow; you're going to mess something up.
7) 40watt CFLs get pretty damn hot (not the bulb, but the ballast). This surprised me. Maybe it's just the brand I used.
8- Growing cannabis is very fun and rewarding.
9) RIU is a good community where seasoned professionals are willing to share their wisdom for the greater good (for the most part).
10) Most people use the same method for germinating seeds. There's a reason. It works. Yes, there's a debate about which way the root should face, but it doesn't really matter. Put it in the soil and have faith that it will pop up soon enough. For God's sake, don't second guess yourself and dig the seed up so you can face the root the other way. That doesn't work.
That's all for now, but I'm sure I'll think of more. The bud is very fun to look at. Still smells weird, but curing should take care of that. It needs to cure for awhile, and I also can't smoke because I have to pee in a cup soon. But once I do smoke some, I'll let you know if it's any good. So far there's 9 seeds/plants started for my first outdoor grow.

you live you learn. No worries... my first harvest was a chocolope plant that stopped budding. Bud didnt even smell like weed. Yielded only a G. and DIDNT GET ME STONED. (I keep the rest of that G for sentimental purposes .. lol)
SECOND GROW:: hindu skunk harvested at week 4 due to stunted growth. I GOT AN EIGHTH. It smelled spicy and delicioso. and YES, IT DID get me stoned.
THIRD GROW:: Burmese kush, LA confidential, and maui waui.: BUDS are a lot denser, fatter, and like the kinds you see on T.V. Harvested at week 6-7. Currently they are drying, and I hope to at least get an OZ and a half.
im actually getting better and better at this. CHEERS!!\
since decemeber 2010.

best advice i could give you: While you are flowering, have something vegging. So that when you mess up, you make up for the lost time.
