Ok well so far i only fucked up alittle bit..... the first round of seeds got fucked but the second are comming up now.... i have 2 speed queen sprouting and 1 unknown..(either misty or speed) got em mixxed up woll germing ,

i have them im small cups ( till i get pots) under a 20 watt cfl ... i had them under a 100 Watt but it seemed like it mighta been too much for 4 seeds. so i switched it up.... so far i havent really watered them.... the soil is looking dry thou on the top im thinkimg bout watering but i dont wanna fuck em up this early... i would stick my finger down to see how wet it is... but the seeds are just sprouting and i dont wanna bumb them around to much in those small cups. best to water or wait?

the whole cabinet was built by me other then some final touches its done... i got lazy and didnt put on trim or the last handle but it works fine only problem im having with the cabinet is light is getting out.. i have fabric hanging on inside but it still gets throu sides

so far no ventalation... no nutes. i got the lights soil and cab thats about it... i have white wrapping paper hanging on inside ( local store had no silver/foil )

here are pics of when i tryed first batch of seeds... 3/4 came outa germ and none made it out of the soil... i started a second batch and i have 3 in soil... 2 have alredi poked outa the ground and im waiting on the last one. after ill germ 2 more misty seeds... so i will have 5 total. hopefully 2-3 come out female and i will put one in a side mother/clone shelf and clone them and ill keep 6 or so in main chamber... keeping them small (about 10 inches) then putting them into flower.... hopefully they will end up small ( less then 2 ft) and i plan on keeping a constant flow of clones . as soon as one comes out ill put another in

ill get picks of the seedlings in alittle... one question thou.. im goin on vacation in a week. whats the best way to keep em alive woll im gone?

You better not leave, your parents might find them...

you want to keep the soil most for the seeds..they dont really need light until they sprout but once they sprout get your cfl light about 3 inches above them and your gunna want to get prolly 5 more cfls at least for 3 plants....my current grow is all cfl in a cabinet like thing that your using...you just need more lights

P.S if your trying to grow without your parents knowing you should probably stop now because you will get caught...i see there being a zero chance of your parents not smelling or getting fishy about whats going on....

but with that known good luck

I don't think he's hiding anything from his parents, also I don't think there's much you can do to keep them from dying, they are bound to dry out within a week, however you could invest in a pump and timer.

Your cabinet grow reminds me of mine although mine is in a closet, I'm using cfl's, white sheet and black plastic, check it out.

Ventilation is important, at least put a small fan in there and open up the doors once in awhile.

I'm using 14 26w for three plants, I'm thinking that's plenty, what do you think?

right not i just have them under 1 "20" watt cfl.. but there seedlings... the bigger light was drying out the soil real fast when it was that close ... overall i have 1 "100" watt and 1 "20" watt odor removing bulb. i had another 100 watt but i droped it .... alot of glass n white powder inside those things... again parents are not an issue ( for those ignorant ppl ) as for ventalation.. its going into winter and it gets alittle cold inside ... so i didnt want the fans in right away or it would make the cab sufficiently colder then the rest of the house... which isnt good... i was considering putting a hps in... but so far what ive herd is 3 ft of vertical space just isnt enough for a hps... with the heat and all... 1 outa 10 said it was possible... so i think ima just pick up another 100 watt cfl and 1-3 smaller ones for flowering... other then that i think the 100 watt by itself will be sufficient for veging the seedlings to about 5-10 inches... ( i only have 3 ft vetical space) minus the lights minus the pots... so 2 ft give or take an inch or 2.... what is this timer thing your talking about ? like an automatic wattering thing ? what would be the eziest way to keep the plants alive.... worse comes to worse i can get my friend to water em... but for now im trying to keep people knowing about this to an absolute minimum

when the plants get into flower i plan on cutting holes in the back and placeing 2 outtake fans at the top and 1 intake at the bottom ... or using a passive intake

Humboldt: took a look throu ur thread... damn.. nice plants... other then the one plant at the end with some kind of deficiency/overwatering damn yelo leave's... looks like u were growing alot more then 3... i saw 6 + clones+ others
u topped them all ? they looked real nice/bushy what im trying for lmk if u got any tips

EdiT: just checked the plants and it looks like i got mild streaching... seems like the soil droped an inch+ so its way below cup line so i put them back under the 100 watt... 2 survived... the last i had in the cup never came up so i pulled it i will put 2-3 more seeds into germ now

With the winter coming and all, it might be a good idea to put a small hps, like a 150w should keep the cab nice and warm, one 150w hps, small fan and intake outtake exhaust should do the trick.

Below is a link to examples of timers and would be the best way to keep your plants alive while you are away, you could probably pick up a cheaper timer near you like at a walmart, lowes, home depot etc.

You should do this way before flowering, if you don't you risk the chance of them not making it that long.

Thanks for visiting my journal and the comments, this is my first go round as well and I started with like 18 sprouts all survived and so far only five girls, still waiting for the others to sex also I'm still trying to clone.

I have tried in water/dirt and it doesn't seem to be working out, so I'm going to get some rookwool or peat pellets and a cloning tent and do some more reading up on what clones environment should be.

I only tried topping and fimming the two girls that are in the veg/clone room, the bushy bitch in the flowering room just ended up bushy on her own and for the screwed up plant I'm thinking about tossing her/him and put the topped girl in when shes ready.

Yeah my soil dropped and had problems at stretching, I was advised to put gravel, small rocks, or sand at bottom of pot it's supposed to help with drainage as well as sinking soil ... for the stretching ones, they are ok if you plant on transplanting into different post you can bury the stems up to the first set of water leaves, that's what I did and works well, I plan on letting all my plants stretch a little now because it seems to work well makes it easier to transplant as well.

Hope things work out for you, also I recommend visiting other peoples journals that are similar to yours such as cab grows, cfl grows etc.
