yea i got it online.. biggest bulbs i could find in stores were like 13 and 26 watt little things... so i went to 1000bulbs.com they got alot of good bulbs for cheap when i saw the odor removing one i had to get one ... as for reading ive done alot.. ive looked at several diffrent grows and how they were set up.. i would think that a 150 watt hps would put out more heat then it would be worth... as you know cfls put out some heat.. not so much the smaller ones but the 100 watts get to the point were it would be very hot to the touch... not enough to burn you.. but enough so you pull ur hand back pretty fast.. if anything i would love to get a 250 watt hps but from what ive herd it will be way to hot even with proper ventalation and a glass sealed hood .....as for the automatic timers and things.. im not sure exactly where to look. and a few of those things get alittle pricey .. so far i only got 2 seedlings... i would hate to let them die but i guess its not that bad...should i just water them alot be4 i go then hope they make it? stick them under the smaller light so not as much heat gets to them? i could prolly rig up some kind of wick system but it might not be worth the effort for 2 small seedlings... note: 1 sprout is comming along nicly... other then alittle streaching which will prolly help it more then hurt it.. and the other looks weird... it took longer to germ then the others... it was planted be4 the second batch... but its smaller then the other and only seems to have 1 leaf.... will it turn out fine? update : my plants are still alive after my vacation and they have developeed a few more sets of leaves. i have germinated more seeds and will plant them tommorow... i will get picks of the progress tommorow |

seems both sprouts are alittle burnt... either from underwatering or to close to light... idk they seem to be alive even thou there growth seems unusually slow considering theyve been growing for about 20 days + other 3 seeds are sprouting now but i could only get 1 decent pic of them. any advice or info ? sorry for the pics... i think this camera sucks... its my bros i think ill get my own soon  i think they might be 2 diffrent strains... these 2 were the only ones that lived throu me germinating them. (outa 7 ) but i got them mixed up woll germinating... so there either misty or speed queen... i believe both are indica... i would really like to tell them appart.... other 3 seeds comming up are misty so ill see which one doesnt belong  Last edited by DOT5262; 11-13-2007 at 01:03 PM. |

Thanks DOT, by the looks of them they look like they have been over watered but it's looking like you ease up on that, seems now in a couple of them pics they look a bit dry, the slow growth I'm thinking is due to their condition, obviously they are in shock, water (not that much) give them plenty of light new growth will start and things will get back to normal, also you could probably get away with putting them in larger pots, give them more dirt for their roots. overwatered ?..... im having a problem with my soil drying out fast as hell... i left on vacation and didnt water them for 10 days. im pretty sure theyre not overwatered... mabe under.. as for the more soil thing i just ordered some pots cuz my local stores suck... all they had was huge ones or small ones.. the only ones the appropriate size were clay.. or alredi had a plant in them ;( |

Listen... up One big problem we have is that your soil mix looks horrible! That looks like topsoil from outside. A simple mix is this : Topsoil 30% bone meal 10% blood meal 10% Perlite40% Vermiculite 10% Keep it growing man.. they are healthy now.. but look at them after you transplant them in this new mix! Remember keep the soul airy ... marijuana loves airy soil! -Nas   |
