WOS Afghan Kush Ryder

I'm new to this site so you won't see them as babies LOL.

Got 3 World of Seeds Afghan Kush Ryder, they are 2 weeks 3 days in and have just started flowering.

I have 2 pheno types, I am very interested in seeing what one of the plants produces, right from seed, it had 3 leaves, including the bleeder leaves which I've only ever seen come out in twos.

The seeds were places into riot roots and cracked under a 250w MH Envirolight. They were tranfered after 2 days and are now in 7 litre pots and are under a 600w HPS. I made a mistake though... forgot to mix pearlite in with my medium, they don't seem too bothered though. Using organic Canna soil and Canna Terra Flores for feed.

Now I've tried uploading I'm having a bit of trouble ha!

The first 5 pics are of the AKR and the last one with my thumb next to it is of Mazar x GWS. At the moment, the light goes is on for 4 hours then off for one, as AKR respond to age and not light, the mazar x GWS doesn't seem bothered either. I have found this the best way to manage the temperature. 4 hours darkness is too long this time of year LOL. They would freeze.

Having a little trouble with fruit flies, not been a problem to eradicate in the past so I reckon they'll be gone soon :fire:

Anyway, I just thought I'd another few pics 24 hours later :) Growth is rapid with these little monsters, they have flowered earlier than the organic lowryder 2 I have on the grow :-o (they are on flush now)

Got a little pest eater too :)

Well I've got an infestation of black fly/fungus gnat.

Following the advice off the forum, I have purchased some play sand which I have sterilised. Going to place 1/2" - 1" on top of the soil, I am also placing sticky fly pads around the base of all the plants.

Apart from this little bit of trouble, they are looking strong, with buds already starting to form. They look very promising, probably a third bigger than the last pictures, can't be arsed uploading any pictures until I've sorted this problem. I think I know what it is, the Canna soil retains more moisture than then last soil I used, therefore, a slight over watering occurred. This didn't affect the plants, but has allowed easy access to the soil for the critters.

Well their really coming along now.

Look at this for 6 days difference.

First pic is day 17, second is day 23, so are the rest, various shots to demonstrate the rapid growth. I have my thumb on a leaf, that is a Mazar x GWS which is in veg, almost ready for clones, it's a beast. The last shot has a lighter next to the plant to show the hight of the AKR.

Due a feed today so I though I'd show a pic before I watered them.

Did any of your seedlings have 3 bleeder leaves?

Yeah, the genetics are strong.

I have some cheese from greenhouse and they are weak compared to any of the AKR or Mazar x GWS

In 2 weeks they'll be huge man, their sick, faster than Lowryder 2

I use 600 HPS though, are you using an envirolight? I popped them under then under a 250, then transferred to 600 HPS

OK so it's thirteen days since my last update, thought I'd upload some more pictures. These are from yesterday. All is going well, flies have virtually gone.

It's obvious that one of these Afghan Kushryder is a freak, just keeps going up and up LOL

As for the other two, they are going great really dense and stinky and love the Canna feed :)

19 days left, a few pictures while the lights are off.

These are brilliant plants, strong, easy to grow and they smell like pungent candy mixed with mulled wine. very similar smelling to when Skunk Number One was ripening.

They are one of the best strains I've ever grown. The buds are solid, hopefully the lanky one will fill out :)

I am amazed, well done world of seeds :weed:

The genetics are stable, but they are a little touchy when germing. WOS had some stock issues a couple of times due to some carelessness, but they redeemed themselves to me. The AKR is one of my favorite strains along with the Easyryder from Lowryder genetics. It has that distinct afghan hash smell with a little citrus undertone from the auto father. They average is 9-10 weeks from seed to finish. Usually gettin about an oz. per plant maybe more

:bigjoint:

I reckon one and a half off each the shorter ones, three quarters off the stringy one.
