Awesome, I was looking about some on ebay but they are about $70+ and didn't feel like spending that much extra money after buying my nice light and all. I will check it out. Thanks. More pics coming soon.

The difference bewteen greenhouse seeds and other companies such as nirvana or whoever is that greenhouse have some guys that make their strains who are supposedly the best in the business for inventing strains. Greenhouse seeds actually created the strain white widow, it was their invention so anyone else that uses the name just isn't providing the same thing.

Someone like nirvana or whoever will copy this strain by selling namesakes at a substantially lower price. The reason for this is that they don't have the same controls or breeding environment as greenhouse where they constantly strive for protection and know a whole shit load about plants.

It all depends on what you want reallly as many seeds as you can get for 20 bucks or getting the quality

Day 5

I got my light today. I am excited about it, but also afraid of heat. When I turned it on, it would get close to 89 degrees with the door open and having the thermometer about 12 inches away. Maybe I will try one of the homemade c02 bottles. Currently I do not have any ventilation, and the hps is 51 inches tall. My three gallon pots are roughly 10 inches and my plants are going to have to be around 24 inches away from that hot light.

so 51 - 10 - 24 = too fing short...

I am only growing four plants and I wanted them to nice and big for a decent yield. There is one solution I have thought of so far is when the plants get big enough, I can hang the light from my ceiling. This would give me an extra 32 inches. I would be able to grow them a lot easier then. On the greenhouse website they flower the White Widow at about 17 inches and they harvest at 24 inches. However, they say their pot is like 80 some liters? That's huge... And it's probably about three feet wide, which also wouldn't work for my closet grow.

If anyone that has grown greenhouse white widow before, it would be great to get some insight.

Day 5

On a better note, my plants seem to be doing really well. Since I moved them from the CFL tube to my closet they started to really grow again today.

I think in about a week I'll start hitting them with the hps hortilux.

Should I try to get that seed shell off the plant in the second picture? I know the 3rd one isn't ready to come off yet.. And there is one shorty in the background of the 3rd picture. I'm pulling for her though.

Thanks everyone.

How early do you guys hit your plants with your hps/mh lights? I want to put my hps hortilux on asap because it has way more lumens (four plants currently on 5 cfl's) and to see what kind of heat problems I will have to deal with.

Here are what my plants look like.

Thanks NGT, can anyone help me out with the question of when to hit these plants with my hps hortilux?

Also my humidity keeps going down. It's about 38% right now, even though a added some cups of water in there to help. I think I may be getting an air conditioner/humidifier which will solve a lot of the problems I have.

Day 6

I took NTG's advice and took it off. I did it with tweezers so I think she will be fine. I took the first picture right after I did it.

My tallest plant's stem is a little over 2 inches and seems to be pretty weak. I have been hitting it softly with a fan all night, so maybe the stem cells are going to get stronger since I turned it off? Not really sure on that.

And, is it normal to have the stems about that long at this stage or are they stretching a little?

If anyone would comment on either of those topics, I would really appreciate it. I also still want to know what you guys think about when to switch from my shitty cfl's to my hps hortilux.

Since it's my first grow maybe I am being a little anxious, but I want to have a good grow to Thanks guys.

Thanks ngt. I put the 430 watt hps about 32 inches away. Surprisingly, the door open it was about 78 degrees and when I closed it for about 15 minutes it only got up to 83. That partially due to it being a lot colder today, and my windows are open in my room with my fan on. But, I feel a lot better about heat now.

They were going 24/7 with the cfl's. Now I am going to start 18/6 to save a little electricity. I'll post some more pics if anything changes.
