Thats just what I am going to do. I had been questioning using just the cubes from the beginning but I had the buckets and medium so I just went with it, then after NGT brought up what I was already thinking I went with it. How can I not take advice from a grower like that?? Amazing!! I am starting 2 4 by 8 tables with all cubes with 2 1000 watters above each tray. I love the Ebb&Flow also, everything is so nice and simple. Clean once a week keeps all problems away.. Yeah the second set of plants were a lot better looking as well as rooted. Aero is the way for clones.. Roots are crazy..

Have a look at making some sort of covering for the tops of the cubes, I use garbage sacks, cut them to shape and then cover the top, just going to prevent algae.

Thanks for all the advise.. Today was a busy one. I drained and cleaned my res and filled it up with new food and water. I also transplanted all the plants in hydro ton buckets to strait cubes. I got all the cubes covered and labeled. This should save me a lot of work now and later. I got to see all the roots and how well they are growing, so that was cool. All the roots are looking good and white. The few clones that are slow at growth due to few leaves, are now starting to shoot out some nice roots. This last week in veg. will really get them going...

Very nice. Now its a true e&f setup.

It's going to get bushy in there, but your
tray is huge so they should be alright.

What do you plan on doing about the roots
once they penetrate?

I was gonna ask you guys what you thought about barring them back in the buckets with the hydro ton at about that point. Like Ngt brought up I would be then saving a lot of hydro ton, and still leaving me to only water once a day having them still in the cubes. Then I dont have to lay down cocco mat, or filling my try up with hydro ton barring the roots and letting the roots tangle, since I like to move the girls around for as long as I can before they just fit where they fit. hahahaha.

Not all these plants will stay in this tray. I will only leave 13 to 15 and move the rest to another area for cloning or flowering.

That sounds like work to me...

You could also do what NGT does. Hes uses more rockwool, which
seems to be the easiest way to go.
I noticed your res. walls are fairly high. If you could get a longer
tube for your overflow, and sacrifice a little more nutes for the
increase in water, It might work out.

Maybe start off with half of the cube, then when that one is
penetrated, put the other half under that. I think 2 cubes per
should suffice.

i had to reread,i didnt see the change to cubes,things happen fast around here lol,so did you put the starter baskets right into the 6"cubes,and how many plants are you useing per table,good to follow your grow again good luck.

Yes they just went strait in.. Right now there is 30, but half will be removed and 15 will remain to be flowered in this tray. Thanks for sticking around for this grow.

I fucken love you guys!! hahahaha.. That sounds perfect. So just start stackin huh My tray sides are big enough to start with a half and move up another after the roots fill the 1 and a half cubes.. 2 cubes seem right.. I have extensions for the overflow now. The sacrifice on nutes is worth it..Thanks for all your help.. I love learning new knacks of all trades. Thanks to this site and people you we can grow our plants and minds together..
