White rhino and s.a.g.e. n' sour grow

I'm back from a short break. picked up some new things for my 3rd grow. finally picked up a ph meter. i thought my water was around 7-8 ph but after testing i found out its more like 9.5-10 ph. now on to the good stuff.

i ordered nirvana white rhino seeds from dr chronic. i only germinated 6 of the 10 seeds. i'm saving 4 for the next grow if i can't get healthy clones. out of those 6 all of them cracked. i was only planning on doing these for the time being, but a buddy of mine, bless his soul, he had some s.a.g.e. n' sour to smoke and found a single seed and saved it for me. haha. so i have a total of 7 starting veg today.

i'm using a 12 zone hydro drip system based on the greenman video for veg and a 6 zone hydro drip for bloom. also using 3 part general hydroponic nutrients. six 4ft fluorescents for veg and a 600 w hps for bloom.

more updates to come.

day 10 of veg.

going to run half strength nutrients for a couple more days then switch to full strength. all the plants are looking good. u can tell the sage apart from the rhinos already. half the height and a darker shade of green.

day 13 of veg.

i cleaned out the res and ph'd fresh water for the full strength nutrients. also added superthrive to the res. had to raise the lights today. the 6 rhinos are about the same height. the sage is so little in comparison. has anyone else grown a sage or sage n sour?

day 33 of veg.

lots of pics for this update. ph is staying around 5.7 - 5.9. plan on cleaning the res and moving things around for the areo cloner. i'm going to install a rail so i can hang some cfls underneath the plants in veg and put the cloner where the res is currently located. there should be enough room for it once i move some junk still in the closet. going to start flowering 4 of the rhino's within a week. the other 2 and the sage n sour are going to be moms once i clone and sex them. next update should be a big one. stay tuned.

Day 34 of veg.

Finally have some time off to finish the upgrades to the flowering closet. To tackle the odor issues i installed an elf carbon filter with some bungee cord. it has a 4 inch flange attached to a 4 to 6 reductor. i had to drill out a couple rivets so i could mount the 6 in fan to draw outwards from the filter. there is a 6 inch fan for fresh air when the room is sealed during the dark hours and for circulation during daylight. i also plan on using bud blood for the first time. picked up a 40 gram sample pack to try out. also going to top the 4 rhino's tonight and start flowering in a few days after they recover from the shock. stayed tuned.

Day 1 of flower.

I started 4 of the rhinos today. Mixed up a 6 gal batch of nutrient solution with a ratio of 2/2/2. Budblood and superthrive added also. should have some good news in a week or so. the remaining rhinos and the sage will be cloned. they are still bendable so i'll try to maximize things with a little LST.

I'm using a Rio+ 1700 in veg and a Sunleaves Durapump SDH230 in flower. I have about 4-5 feet of overhead since the res in my veg closet isn't close to the shelves the plants are on. Thats why i overkilled it.. In the flower closet there is maybe 2 feet of overhead so i went with a cheaper pump. Haven't had a single problem with either. I'm probably going to pick up another sunleaves pump for the 6 site cloner that should be ready to use in a couple weeks.

Day 4 of flower.

Well i must say, i've never been able to sex plants this early. maybe budblood really does what it promotes.. we'll see how it finishes. all of the rhinos have shown preflowers. 3 male, 3 female. 2 in flower and 1 in veg of each sex. probably remove the males from flowering in a few days. the one male rhino left in veg will give me something to practice cloning with. the female rhino in veg will be the start of the SOG. i finally have a pic with the cloner set up and ready to go. also got a few decent close ups so you can see the pistols. lastly the sage looks well. i gave it a tug to check the roots and it wasn't growing into the larger block. i ph'd water and got a new cube ready for a transplant. all of the mothers in veg are in planter bags with hydroton to give room for root structure.

Day 10 of flower.

Changed the res out a couple days ago with fresh water and full strength flowering solution. also started to tie down to encourage the side branches to catch up with the tops. should get 6-9 decent colas per plant. continuing the lst of the moms. should be able to cut clones in a week. the clones i have cut now haven't shown roots yet. hopefully see something soon. this is my first experience with an aero system.

Day 13 of flower.

Picked up a ppm meter finally. The first readings weren't to bad. just a little on the high end. Adjusted it and the ph. The 2 rhinos flowering look really good. The training is helping the side branched catch up to the tops. probably a couple weeks then i'll cut them loose. the clones i cut don't look too hot. i picked up another sunleaves pump for the cloner. hopefully that will help. the 2 rhino mothers are almost ready to start giving up branches. i'm 100% sure the one is a female. the other one i can't tell. no hairs yet, but i don't want to chop it before i know for sure. the sage looks ok, but the sub branches from the main stem are tiny. does anyone know if that is a trait of the sage n sour? it looks almost like a clone cut for SOG lollipop method.. haha.

Impressive chambers...how are your clones
doing without being covered?

Other than that, everything seems to be
working out well.

Thanks.. taken me almost a year to get this far. the last thing i want to add is a co2 system. that should take care of everything for the perfect environment. air, water and light. i have a dome that will just fit over the 6 site cloner. the 6 clones i have.. er i mean "had".. haha. i pulled them today. i think i'm going to bypass the rockwool until there are actually roots growing. i have neoprene collars to help hold the clone in place and just stick it down in the netpots filled with hydroton. i think thats the method FilthyFletch outlines in his aerocloner thread. i'll have to double check tho. i have yet to find cloning method with high % of rooting clones, thats why i built a aero system. anyone have some good tips?

Day 16 of flower.

The 2 rhinos look good. real good.. haha. just a little over 2 weeks and the flower development is amazing. i'll update in a few days after i cut new clones from the mom in veg. the sage is still going, though slowly. still no viable branches to sex it with. its basically the main stem with tiny sub branches. oh well.
