I AM PLANNIN ON GROWING FOUR LOWRYDER PLANTS UNDER A 400hps OR UNDER A CFL. WHICH WOULD BE BETTER FOR SUCH A SMALL GROW????
I AM PLANNING A SLIGHTELY BIGGER GROW NEXT TIME , WOULD 1 CFL STILL DO THE JOB??

THIS IS MY GROW CUPBOARD, IT'S ABOUT 2FT/3FT/5FT , WILL I NEED A PROPER EXHAUST FAN OR CAN I GET AWAY WITH AN OSCILATTING FAN AND A VENT?? (the small light is an 11w flouro inspection lights for when the girls are small.)

Yeah i'm growing lowryder too man, lowryder x santa maria to be precise, that's a pretty small cupboard for a 400HPS man, CFL's would probebly be best if you could invest in some pretty decent ones.

edit: reason i say it's too small for a HPS is because you're gonna need some fat ass ventilation I'd think, i've got 2 exhaust fans and 2 vents attatched to the side of my closet grow with an oscilating fan to give root strength

id stick with cfl's. but even in my cupboard which is 2foot square by 3 foot high it is really hard to keep the temps under 87 but i have 485w alltogether

i have 2 5 inch pc fans for intake and 1 8inch fan for exhaust,

but thats nothing compared to when i put my 600w hps in a box 2foot square by 4 foot high the temps wouldnt drop below 98 with 5 pc fans

im gonna buil a new cupboard in the next few days and then invest in a few lowryder seeds, i should have room for 6 maybe 8 if i stagger when i plant them,

a 400 will do the job anything more for that space and everything will be fried. a cfl will lower temps but maybe yield too

Yeh, Go with the cfl's
Much cheaper, Cooler and all round practical, and they have more usefull light that plants need the HPS, HPS just penetrate better, Maybe even try the UFO LED'S, Seen some lush grows on youtube with them
and by your lowryder seeds from JointDoctor. i went for feminised, peace.

You could also go with a combination of both cfls and leds that would give you a nice spectrum and keep low temps. Lowriders are so small, are they really worth growing so few. You could grow more in a home made virtical grow system and only have to use 2 400w hps, and get around 100 lowriders in a small space or more.

i'm growing lowryder and bout to harvest.

that cab is big enough for a hps light. i would use 4 daylight cfl bulbs til they show sex then switch over to a hps system. i learned alot from my grow. you will need an intake and exhaust fan no matter what. hit me up if you have any questions.
