My First Grow -BagSeed- From some Mids ANY TIPS ARE WELCOME and ENCOURAGED! Pics

ok. so this is my first Grow ever. and my 1st thread as well. ive been reading up on growing weed, especially on this website (which is by far my FAVORITE) for a couple months now.. its kinda sad how much time i spend on this computer looking at the same pictures of the same plants.. and read the same threads over and over. lol. but anywayz...

My plants are just about 2 weeks old now, 13 days old to be exact. i started out with 6 seeds which i got from a bad of some mids that i bought a while ago. i know when it grows its not going to be anything THAT good, but im still a little nervous to buy seeds online.. (if anyone has any sites theyve ordered from and recommend PLEASE let me know). so i started out with 6 seeds. only 4 made it. the other two didnt even sprout. so i threw them away. and right now i have them in my closet on top of a fold up table. they are in Dunkin Donuts cups. i cut down the cups (because they were X-Large) to about 3 1/2 inches and i poked plenty of decent size holes in the bottom for drainage.

Then i filled them with a mix of some cheap soil i bought at Family Dollar and Schultz Premium Potting Soil. The cheap soil looks like dirt.. but holds the moisture pretty well... but the Schultz soil wouldnt hold the water at all. so i decided to just mix them together.

For plant nutrients im using the Miracle Grow Single Packets. its 24-8-16 and it sais to add 1 packet to a gallon of water. i know your supposed to start off at 1/2 strength or some people said 1/4 strength. i went with 1/2 strength. and i water them with the nutrient water once every 3 days. i have to water them every day.. but i use spring water in between using the nutrient water.

I have the cups sitting in an aluminum container that you would use for like a cookout or something like that. for lights... im kinda doin it the ghetto way because i dont have the money to buy any HPS lights..

Sooo right now i have 3 - 23 watt Daylight CFL's. and one 100 watt daylight bulb (the regular looking light bulb, not sure what you would call them) i have 2 of them hanging from a rod, 1 of them is a desk lamp that i have sitting on the table and facing down on the smaller plant, and the other is a clamp type lamp, that i have facing the plants.

They all have a few sets of leaves now. theres 3 that are about4 inches long and the other is about 2 1/2. ummmm... ok. i think thats about it.. if anyone has any questions or tips PLEASE let me know. and again..

ok. heres some pics i just took a few minutes ago.. if anyone has any questions.. or needs me to take "better" pictures or pictures of certain parts.. please just let me know. Also.. the bottom leaves.. the very 1st ones to sprout (i forget what theyre called) are starting to turn yellowish.. is this normal..?? and 1 other thing.. i have to water my plants EVERY day.. i water them the same time every day.. well between 7am and 8am.. and every morning when i check on the.. they look fine.. but the soil is dry.. to the point where the top of the soil is sometimes crusty.. but the plants look fine...? should i just keep watering them everyday?? or do you think i should transplant them cuz the roots are sucking up all the water..? or maybe its too hot?? lol. i dont know.. any help or ideas..?? Thanks **its hard to see but there is another plant behind the one on the right.. its just hidden behind the other one because i propped it up to get it closer to the light**

Hmmmmm... i got alotta people looking at my thread.. but no replies yet beside my own. ok. Well i decided transplant my Baby's into bigger pots, because watering them EVERYDAY was getting annoying.. and i felt like the pots... well cups i had them in were a little to small anyways.. and i was thinking that was why i had to water them everyday.. and yesterday i actually had to water them twice!! soo i just finished doing that.. and i took some more pictures.. 3 of them had a really good rooting system.. the other one.. =-/ not soo good. lol. but i took a few pics of the roots.. and you guys can tell me how they look.. and as far as the yellow leaves on the bottom.. they're still there.. not quite sure what to do with them yet.. i'm gonna upload some more pics in a couple minutes and show you guys what they look like so maybe someone could help me out and let me know what i should do. and there were a few leaves that had yellowish brown tips.. and it seems as if they were getting worse and worse each day.. soooo i snipped JUST the brown/yellow part off.. it was'nt much of the leaf.. you can hardly tell i cut a couple of them.. but i saw that in a video today.. so i just figured id cut the tips too... also. i was thinking about LST'ing a couple of my plants.. has anyone done this and had any success?? is it really worth doing? ok well i'm going to go upload those pics and put them up now.and PS. i think the pics will show up better now.. because yesterday the atatchment option was'nt working.. but i just tried it out now. and its working fine.

Evey thing is going good man, dont worry about those lil leave, they die off anyways, if you want to order seed, take a look here, attitude is good, but take a look for yourself

you will need more CFL's once flower time comes, i would top the plants after they grow some, let them recover then check them into flower

lets start off with the fact that the incandescent bulbs arent doing shit for the plant... replace tose with more cfl's... the heat may be the cause of the browning and the yellowing of the cotyledons ... the lowest lil round leaves... ther is also the fact that you have given them a good dose of nute burn... the burnt tips could be caused from this... how much did you actually look into growing before you started this? also, you mite not wanna check the roots like that very often, unless you want a shim, but there is a reason transplanting shox them and if ya dont wanna shock them, let them be...
i dont mean to come off as a dick if i did, but these are things tat should be fixed pretty promptly... you can fix all the above probs pretty simply... change your lights... put in some more cfl's... flush the shit outta them... make sure they can drain and pour about 3x the volume of your grow containers worth of ph'd water... make sure it fully drains... to the point of not dripping... that should fix the nute burn issue...

lol.. nah its ok. lol. i was thinking that tho wen u said that.. i was like i only took the pics cuz i transplanted them.. lol. and i only have 1 incandescent bulb.... and its one of the "daylight" bulbs.. not sure if that matters or not. i had taken that bulb out before.. and put another one of the daylight CFL's in its place.. but the plants seemed to start drooping a bit.. and it didnt feel like it was warm enough in there..? maybe i should still switch that one out for another CFL.. and then put another lamp in there somewhere.. and put an incandescent bulb in it but just keep it kinda far away from my plants.. just so i can get the heat from it..? and i know i probly should have waited to transplant them too.. because of the whole "shock" thing.. but i was wateriing them every day. and towards the last feww days before i transplanted them. i was watering them twice a day.. and whenever i read other peoples threads they all say they water their plants once every 2 or 3 days. so i figured something was wrong.. just figured they were out growing the cups.. but thanks again for all the help and ti[s. adn i think im going to top ONE of the plants.. and LST another one.. adn leave the other two alone.. and just compare results and see if its worth it.. also.. the next grow i do after these.. i was thing about doing a SOG.. i just feel like it would work faster.. idk. just an idea for now. kk. well im going to go check on them now... ill be back on here in a lil bit

hey SICC.. thanks for all the help with the links and stuff. and its such a relief to hear that the little leave just fall off... lol. i was like oooo shit.. im killing my plants!!

but yeaa after i finish this grow.. i might try one more grow.. depending on how good this grow comes out.. and then i want to order some seeds.. cuz the weed around here... is fucking gross.. and its never what people say it is... and its just annoying.. its like the better they say the weed is... the worse it ends up being.. lol. soo id love to have something good for once.. and espeacially something I grew myself. well im gonna check out all those links when i get back.. thanks again!!
