First time grower here, currently utilizing CFLs in a cardboard box wrapped with mylar until I can buy my dream setup, which is an ebb/flow hydro setup in rockwool

Strains I'm currently growing

Snakebite (C99 x Romulan)
C99 (grapefruit and pineapple pheno)
UBC (not really sure on the genetics, got them for free Orange Crush x C99 x Snowtemple ?)

Pics of current shitty shitty setup, plants are all about a month old, I had an issue with the power and the lights went out for about 12 hours, dropping the temps down to 54 degrees, almost lost all of them. I've been having problems with lower leaves turning yellow and falling off, while the rest of the plant stays a healthy green. Perhaps my potting soil is too nutrient rich? I don't have anything to measure it with.




PRAYING this G99 is a girl, doing the best out of all of them.


Room I'd like to upgrade into.



It's built out of this hard pink insulating foam. Because I'm growing in an attic, I'm aware that there will be wild temperature swings, and I'd like to get temperatures as stable as possible, and this stuff has a great insulation rating. My plan is to install a layer of black milspec, and then a layer of mylar. The room will eventually be split to have 2 rooms, one for flowering and one for veg.

I'd like to give major shoutouts to GypsyBush and Al B. Fuct, and everyone on this site. I've read through the FAQt, batch of clones, harvest every 2 weeks, etc... amazing collection of knowledge and I have all the details gleaned and saved remotely online for future referral. So let me know how I'm doing, I promise to upgrade the setup when I get the money!

Still haven't worked on the room much more, looks like I'll need to find a better alternative to duct tape, it just easily peels off in some places, but some places I can't even pick off a corner without it taking chunks of foam with (???).

This seems to be happening a lot, with all the plants. The biggest leaves always turn yellow and eventually fall off. Is this normal? The rest of the plant looks healthy, but it's always only the biggest leaves.

Correct, it's only the bottom leaves that turn yellow and fall off, you're probably right about the light penetration.

I plan to upshift into bigger pots, build a larger box, and add 2 more CFL bulbs for a total of 3 on the top and 2 on the sides in the next few days.

Not sure what I'm looking at here. These can't possibly be pollen pods, can they? They've been in 24 hour light since germination.

A couple of quick questions.

1. How often should I be watering these? I usually water them once every other day.

2. Would they be doing better if they were in bigger pots?
