Welcome to my first grow

First of all i got my seeds from marijuana-seeds-canada.com and they showed up after 6 days, they have been germinating in the soil for 2 days now, and I hope they will pop

the strains I am growing are
Dutch Passion's white widow,
World of seeds' Afghan Kush and
white label's Purple Haze

I am using a DIY grow box I made out of some plywood i found in the basement of my building I am using two 3" AC cooling fans for output and inner circulation with an air flow of 32ft^3/minute (o.9m^2/m)

Right now i have 2 40watt cfl 2700 lumen( i think)
and a 45 watt CFL the other 45 watt smashed this morning sadly

Questions answered:
- I started to germinate in a paper towel, but when they paper towel was mistaken for garbage i decided it was safer to just plant in the soil. - any advice on how much water i should be using for this method , currently i am moistening the soil around the seed but the rest is dry, I'm scared of drowning the seed.

- I have an extra socket for the fourth light when i replace it, and the box is built to handle about 9

- the box is about 3' tall, 2' deep and 2' wide

- according to the SeeMoreBuds guide I read I will flower at about 2.5 weeks for about 8 weeks

- lights are 18 on 6 off (6am-12am on)

for my journal I will use the second post for the growth of the plant replacing each day with the next day, and the 3rd post i will utilize for flowering to show the contrast between the final day of both for my own learning and perhaps for others education as well.

Feel free to comment or question and constructive criticism is most welcome
as well as any tips to light proof the door to the box

- Well looks like I am going to 12/12 from seed so this section may not fill up to much...

Afghan Kush has popped, not sure on the others don't want to disturb them but im assuming they should all reach the surface tomorrow or wednesday

Wow! I applaud your organization skills!

Looks like you have it all setup.
Did you germ in like a paper towel or let the seeds sit in some water?
Are you planning on adding any more lights? /
Whats your lighting schedule? How tall is your box? How long are you planning to veg/flower?

as for my organization skills, there would have been now applauding had you seen my apartment while i was constructing the box ha ha.

Also I read your 12/12 from seed i like the idea I think ill look into before my seeds sprout as i want to keep my plants small and have the cutting ready for the next grow immediately after

For the water ?, When my seeds were in the soil before sprouting. I watered 1/4 of pure H2O Daily until sprout.
Then it was 1/2 every other day the first week
Then do finger test(stick finger in soil. if dry about 1.5 knuckles down then water slowly until water comes out of the drainage holes.

With 3FT of height I would 12/12 from sprout. Because it will take 3 weeks alone just to show sex. So as soon as she shows sex she will already have it in her mind to start budding.
Instead of veg for 2.5 weeks then wait 3 weeks for buds to even start forming.

So..At 3 weeks buds will be starting to form, they will have extra time to fluff up and grow big colas.

A fully grown plant with 12/12 from sprout will mature at about 2.5-3 FT tall. Thats about how much room you have before your pots and lighting systems. So It will be squeezed if you start after sprout.

So Id keep on 24/7 or 18/6 until they all sprout up.

Oh also for your lights you can run by lowes and get a Y splitters for you light sockets. Will let you put 2 bulbs in one socket. There $1.88 at lowes : )

wicked yeh i forgot about those while i was getting things... make it 18 lights for my box mwahaha...after harvest when i have the cash

Ya Thats kool. Thats my plan. After harvest,youll have some cash comming in. So you pimp out the box so your next grow will have a wayy better yield.

So you have room for 9 lights...like 9 holes in the top?

You might wanna think about getting power strips and plugging the Y splitters in them. (check out my Thread,thats how I have my lights)

yeah that looks way cool, i was looking for a fresh light idea for the splitters since im not sure my current light circuit could handle double the lights, how do you raise or lower them?

also the two fans i have don't seem to be able to keep it coolone is uilt in the wall for exhaust but the other just sits in there for circulation and the temperature quikly reaches 91.2 after closing the door but the box temp goes down to 76 with the door open, if i made the other fan into the wall to take fresh air in would it be more efficient at cooling the box?
