I just thought I would stop by and say hi. Killer cabinet build and I love the Mc Funk Stick. Great idea.

I dont mean to shoot down your idea but ya cant daisy chain hps. Sucks but it dont happen. Each bulb needs a ballast, well wait a minute, there is two ballasts out there that will run two lights each. There is a dual 250 by Galaxy and a dual 600 by Lumatec.

They re fairly new and kinda expensive right now.

What I am toying with is a flip flop flower cabinets. Two cabs side by side one ballast two bulbs and a relay. Ballast runs 24/7 and the relay flips from one cab to the other every 12 hours. Just thought I would run that by you. I like running ideas by people and getting opinions.

Well time to burn one and contemplate the design on my Funk Stick. (that will take an hour) LOL

That's a shame about the no chaining. I've called around and was told the same thing. I'm still at the drawing board unfortunately.

Funny you should bring-up 2 bulbs one ballast...
That's an awesome scenario for that app.
...another purpose for dual light one ballast would be in the same cab. For instance 6 of 12(or 8 of 16, 12 of 24 veg.)one side gets direct light/next 6 they get indirect and the other half get's the direct. Lower heat/Probably higher G.per.W average I imagine, too.

The flip flop I was talking about is with a regular ballast. I guess I mixed that up.
Taking advantage of the fact there is two 12 hr periods in a day. Ya got 12 hrs to flower in one then instead of the ballast turning off and on again and hitting your bill with a power spike that is noticable it just keeps running and a relay that is controlled by a simple timer will switch the juice to the second lamp for 12 hrs then back again. If you start one grow a month later and you are on an 8 week flower strain you could alternate harvests and have one every other month.

I was just saying that there are dual lamp ballasts out there that will run two lights.
Thing is heat. I found my cabs temp rising about 10° when the lights are on. I dont think you could have two HID in one cab unless you had cooltubes or the ventlation system from hell.

OK, I bought 2~150wHPS with their own ballasts and the joe threw in a cheap timer to be Cool.
A Hunnert Doalla' Bill. I think I did ok.

The best I coud find for two 150w was ebay $140 + shipping.of like $40

OK I made my Funk Stick. I used some wire from some of the left over screen I just put in.
This will work perfect for getting a shoot through the screen. I went with a single twist and tested it out.
Had to add the handle for kicks.










I guess its more of a Funk Twig.

Here's an idea...
Let me have it!


I sketched the plants bleeding off into adjacent screens but that wouldn't be allowed to happen. Each PVC aero box has it's own stand and would be connected to it's own screen. Quick (dis)connect pool hose w/bulkheads on each to drain. Spaghetti line fed.

I could also s p r e a d the screens further from the light if things got too close for comfort.

Hey Amigo,

Out of the two screen box designs I like the first one.
By having the light in the center of the box you use more of the available light.
Plants can grow upside down, they will reach for the light no mater where it is.

I would think the only disadvantage would be size. You would need to grow a strain a couple times and get used to the stretch and overall size of the buds before you would know how big to make the box.

Mythbusters, Ha, I like thst show too. Havent seen it in a while though.
I read a while back that vibrations from bass in music help a plant grow.
Never saw a test though. So there conclusion would be what I read then.
The heavy metal had the most vibrations out of the recordings.
