First Med Coco Grow - Page 3

So i have some type of ph issue today..a few bottom fans on a couple plants look burnt.
I haven't added any nutes yet so my ph in my storage container must have dropped to low - another lesson learned..(always test water before using)
So I added the nutes to the H20 barrell tonight and the ph was 4.8 --way to low
I f$#ked up because I didn't test it before I added the nutes--so I am not sure what it was before..good news is I am going to get some ph up tomorrow before watering the plants.

I used 50% of the recommended nutes mix and the ppm's is 198. I will be correcting the ph before anything else goes to the plants.

Awesome setup! Very clean! Way to do it right the first time..wish i had that kinda money to spend on my first setup but i'm slowly adding to it.

That is for sure a PH issue. Correct PH and give a good watering and im sure you'll see improvements.

Alsooo, just a suggestion. With those big 1000w MH bulbs I would suggest raising the hoods a little. 1000w is very bright on plants that young. i start my hoods at like 24+ inches away from fresh clones, aftering being in 16oz cups under T5.

The T5 gives them a good jump start. It really lets them root well in the cups and form very compact sets of nodes, giving them a good base to branch off from.

So I went ahead and got a light mover..I had a couple outside plants leaning toward the light..So I re-arranged the plants so they all are happy.
I also put down some sticky tabs to see if there are any bugs I need to worry about.
I gave them their first taste of nutes last night..I mixed it at 1/2 the rec.

do you have reflective lining around all four sides of the grow area when your not fussing with it?

I do..I have milar and I have white plastic over the door..I basically taped thick plastic (white on one side black on the other) around the door..white side in and put a zipper in the middle of the door opening. So basically after opening the door I unzip the plastic..
But to answer your question, yes I do have reflective milar on all the walls..

I am going out of town for 2 days ( flying to NY to watch the Raider/Giants game)and left my wife in charge.. I would be lying if I said I wan't a little nervious..I'll update when I get back

I would be nervous too..... she has a decent understanding of growing.... but little practical experience..... should be fine I imagine..... it aint rocket science

..... its plant science :P

Day 9 under HID MH
I was gone for three days and I water good before I left and they were fine till today..mostly dry on top, but still slightly moist underneath. I watered ~3 gal per pot.until the water came out of the bottom of the smart pots.
They appear to be over the stress from the change in medium and envirement.
I decided that I am going to add another passive vent as I can tell that there is some suction in there.
