Week 8 Flowering

Ok ive been so busy for ages i havent had chance to update. Im having a few probs with the plants, both plants have different problems too :(

the first plant has an issue with some leaves edges rolling upwards, whether this is moisture stress i dunno, but its only around a few bud leaves and its not affecting the other plant so i dunno.Something weird going on with the main cola's too lol- they appear to be sprouting!!!! lol they growing more and more white pistils - hmmm lol

The second plant looks more advanced than the first in that alot more pistils are brown, what worries me is that alot of the leaves are brown too :( The greeness of the plant is getting lighter and lighter with leaves starting to turn a rusty colour from the leave edges inward, ive tried to take pics but they arent as apparent on the pics.

I've fed both plants exactly the same - 1ml biogrow, 6mls bio bloom and 3-4mls of molasses only difference is that the second plant is in a smaller pot.

Heres some pics anyway, im thinking plant 2 may have to be harvested before plant one.

in this post are pics from plant one the next post will be pics of plant 2 for comparrison dont know how to seperate pics so ill do it like that for ease lol

Still allot of new growth in there ....
Perhaps the stetching and low percentage of fan leaves led to slower production .....
including stress issues.....
All in all the plants look nice but lack density ....
Maybe a couple more weeks of flowering will help.....
Give em two to three more weeks atleast ....
and start flushing in a week or so...
Thats just my opinion....
Looks awesome for a first grow....nice job.......
my seeds are sprouting as i type....
look forward to getting a visit agent...
still havnt started the new journ...... ill let u know.....

Heya, ty for stopping by :) Yeah the top buds on plant one seem to be going mad by sprouting mini branches and new pistils lol, however the smaller buds are browning quite a bit ( weird cos i thought it would be more likely to have brown pistils in the top colas hmm lol) anyway after trawling more threads im thinking my other plant is showing classic signs of mag deficiency so i've given them both a dose of epsom salts in hope it resolves the problem. However its unclear in these threads whether or not i need to feed epsom salts at every watering, afterall if the plants deficient i doubt one dose will alleviate the problem if the soil has given up all its reserves of the magnesium?? I'll try and find some more info on it i guess, just dont want the girls to suffer too much when i start flushing, which wont be too far away- just want them as good as they can be before i starve em, afterall my initial plan was going to try and cut the plant short of the bottom so i can reveg wats left:D

Hi there, just reading through your journal and see for your first grow you have made some good choices (the LST in particular - cool!!) It's great to practice new things. I done my first super crop by basically snapping a branch when LST'ing, the thing went bananas after that.

Here's a suggestion. White Widow is going to be best at 10 weeks (or so the Cloggies say) I would turn your lights down to 8 hours per day for the last 2 weeks with WW. Then the last few days just leave them in the dark. You are growing in soil so remember to flush, but a week before since you are organic. The 8 hours is going to slow down or stop any new veg growth (which you still get in a 12/12) and will concentrate all energies into bud fatness - yippeee:bigjoint: Oh, and it saves on the lecky:-P

So sub'd in, all be it a bity late......will be late for my own funeral:wall:

Peace,

:peace: DST

hey thanks for stopping by and your comments :) I've learnt alot from my first grow , like not growing my seeds on a windowshelf for 2 weeks and that i indeed needed the light closer to my plants in the early days, however im chuffed at the fact i havent killed em yet lol :P

I think your right, one plant is maturing slightly quicker than the other, one in particular is being odd with browning pistils at the middle and bottom of the plant with its main colas throwing out more branching pistils lol, so yep i agree its probs gonna be close to 10 weeks if not before for harvest i guess. I just hope my yellowing doesnt get to bad on the one plant after ive dosed it with some epsom salts. Thanks for mentioning my lights i was thinking i had read somewhere that turning the light hours down further helps the buds mature quicker and danker so i'll start that in a few days:)

It's cool to also see someone from my neck of the woods too :P

Many Thanks

I seriously wouldn't stress about yellowing leaves....check outside, all you will see is yellow leaves. It's nature. And thats what our little girls do as well, they suck the crap out of their own leaves.

My plants look like complete pants at 8 weeks!!!bongsmilie . Good luck and I'll stop in for a cuppa some time.

Ciao:bigjoint:

I was gonna say, I thought the leaves are supposed to be deteriorating at this stage of the game for your grow.

Looking good!!!

yeah they are supposed to yellow to a degree but im worried because this is in a smaller pot and is starting to show deficiencies as the problem is spreading to the top- im worried if i dont stop it getting worse it will have no leaves that are useful by the end - and i was hoping to repot and reveg after harvest- im posting some pics up because its not yellowing pe se, more rusting first then yellowing :(

When using organics I think it depends on the type of plants you are growing. Perhaps your girls are just greedy things. I found when using Plagron bloom (organic and similar to BioBizz) that the result I got using Plagron Bloom plus an additional PK 13+14 gave better results (I am using BioNova now). The PK 13+14 is a super bloomer (various fert companies do their own version) that really brings out the snowiness in your buds as well. If you can get some of this it will boad you well for future grows as well. Good luck.

run off is 6.6 and the bronzing i swear is getting worse day by day and is starting to reach the bud leaves>>> im urging the bloody pistils to change quicker in case this plant takes a sudden nose dive, , going to increase the dark period tonight by an hour or 2 to see if that helps speed things up on the bud front :D

What percentage of your plants have amber pistils/hairs?

the one plant is slightly ahead of the other but on average its about 50% browning pistils on the lower buds, whilst the top main buds i would say strugling for 20% as they seem to be side branching new white pistils- strange cos i woulda thought the top buds would mature quicker as they have more light, ah well such is life.

My Blueberrys also have many white hairs come harvest but what you need to do is look at the trics to see if they are of a milky or amber complexion using a loupe, good magnifying glass or microscope. Dont let it go too long like I did or the THC will begin to degrade.
