So some of you may have seen my first post but now i got my babies and im ready to start! so let this be the start of my journal.
so here are the stats:

Clones:
Shiva Skunk
Bogglegum (bubba kush X trainwreck)

Grow Space:
DIY growbox. 24"D x 26"L x 63"H
400 watt MH/HPS (comes in any day now)
200 CFM can fan exhaust
passive intake
currently using 2 23W cfl's (just till my light comes, had to get my clones today in order for my grow schedual to work for me)

DIY DWC system(rubbermaid 21 gallon)
two 6inch airstones
Dual port air pump
water pump (to drain and fill res without moving )
6 inch net pots

Grow Medium:
Hydroton
clones are in RockWool

Nutrients:
Botanicare nutes,
pure blend pro growth
pure blend pro bloom
liquid karma
Cal-Mag
(going to get Sweet)

I mixed up a gallon of RO water with the nutes and have it set aside to hand feed till the roots go more down so I can reach the res. water level. My ph ended up perfecttttt at 6. :) . Gonna water 2 times a day. Light Schedual is 18/6, would using 20/4 be good too? or better? my room temp is chillen jst below 80. humidity is about 60. I love where i live. great conditions right now

When should i start lst? i think im going to use LBH's 4way lst. but not to such an extent. i think i only am going to flower for 2 weeks max.

Questions? Comments? advice? lets get this started .
this is going to be funnnn :)

on with the PICS!!! gonna be many ;]

Great setup man, everything looks good. other then the plants. Wow have they stretched! You NEED to get that light closer to them if you can. But Great design.

ive somewhat controlled my temp situation but any help would be great! advice on keeping it down? my fan is an inline fan sucking the air out from under the airhood. heat still gets above 80.
also some of the leaves are light green kinda yellowish. (pics) and the tips of a few of the leaves are kinda of curling down. idk if this is from me or some how i got them. can't tell yet. this is official day ONE technically?
can someone please tell me what may be wrong with the plants if anything?
im watering 2 times a day with a mix of just a little grow.
thanks :)

Shiva Skunk (top leaves kind of light greenish yellow and some curling down)

and heres just some room shots.

Check the ppms of the nute solution.

Also your empty 3rd spot is letting light in and you're gonna get root rot. Block out all light and start using hygrozyme ASAP.

Im not a rockwool expert but if you are watering twice a day you may be keeping your rockwool too wet. Once you get any root mass at all in the water you can stop watering and just keep adding nutrient solution a couple times a week.

brew: thanks for the reply,
im using charts for my nutes and im using very little. 7.5ml of grow per gallon and 5ml of liquid karma.

i think i did overwater
do u suggest stopping hand feeding and switching to just raising the nute level in the bucket

If u have roots, they should be in the water adn u have no need to top feed anymore. U really need to do some research on other DWC grows. Ur questions are very vague and u will get better replies if people dont think they have to write a five page report to help u out.f Just take a deep breath, gather up a couple months to a year worth of patience and letdowns and get ready to put some major effort into growing grass if u want good results. Im not trying to be offensive at all, just tryong to help u out. I know u can do it, just takes a lot more effort and studying than alot are ready for when they start.

trust me. i have read alot. about all of this. i have close friends who grow helping me as well. everything ive done is based on things ive read. but of course i dont have complete knowledge without trying and trying thus brings up questions. ive put a year of thought. and months and months of long nights reading about all this. but some stuff i have yet to learn, of course. always something to learn with growing, thats one thing i know forsure.

Once the roots get to the res ur set, stop watering by hand. If any roots are in the reservoir they send a super secret message to the rest of the roots with a map to the res. They will take about three to six days to completely charge in to the res. If you only have an inch or two of roots in the res just raise the res level to about half inch below the net pot. Otherwise I keep the water level 2" - 4" below the res. The plant will be fine as long as there are a couple inches of roots in the water. This is nice because if you need to go on vacation you can let a 5 gallon bucket go about 4 days without maintenance.

I did that and roots are working their way down! thanks for the help. and now for the update:

so i havent updated in a few days, had to go out of town so had my roommate take care of the plants. The bogglegum survived it looks, but i think it may have nute burn? or something? help? (see pics). Also the one that survived seems to have many new roots on the bottom! YAY! :) the other one, i think is dead, there are a few small leaves that seem alive and the others are crisp. tell me what you think. But anyways, i got a new clone of Hindu Skunk to replace the dead one. this clone is very healthy and with my knew knowledge i am hoping what happened last time will not happen again this time. The leaves on the new one have kind of bent in the middle, i dont know what this means? the temps in my box have balanced out though i still may upgrade my inline fan as well as get one or 2 more.

let me know what you think any help or suggestions are appreciated.

The recovered Bogglegum, with a few problems? nute burn?

this is the new Hindu Skunk. the leaves are kind of bent upwards in the middle. can someone tell me if this is a problem?

so can anyone tell me if it would be ok to start LSTing at this point? or how long should i wait. (i wanna switch to flowering the 11th or 18th of oct i think, in order to be done before i go on vacation)

Just a personal opinion but I woulndt LST while its shocked from the nute burn, let it recover a little.

What is you nute solution at? I see salt buildup in your hydroton and that leads me to believe you are overnuting. If you dont have a ppm meter, get one.

trying to find one online and get a ppm reader asap. the ones they offer at the hydro store is wayyyy out of my budget, but i learned i didnt have nute burn that it was from when that plant almost died from under watering, now it has been fixed and pretty much fully recovered. been about a week.
suggest anything by way of PPM reader?

both plants seem to becoming along well now. I'm changing out the water in the res. today and new nutrient solution :) i started lst yesterday so they've been died down for like 12 hours now. one thing though, i found a few little bugs in my grow space, idk what they are. there was like 4 i killed them tho, they were these weird little reddish bugs hanging out in there in random places. i only found one hidding near the plant. what do i do?? keep an eye out for them?

photos! :)
