Thanks man, for some reason no one likes my log.

I will be updating some more today.

Tonight I wanna talk about gnats and gnat control. I think I found a product that works.

Excited to hear it. It really was just the time of year for gnats. All mine are gone now but our house use to be full of em. Sucked. But as soon as it gets cold outside they seem to disappear.

Had to chop some. Some of them were showing signs of the begings of powdery mold so I pulled them. They were right around 10 weeks so I figured why risk it.

You can see some of the brown leaves on the longest one at the top. And this happened with keeping the r.h. down at 45%. I want to run it lower, but my mothers are breathing the same air.

I think I will have to break down and give a sulfur burner a try. I know I can control the humidity so if I can break the cycle with some sulfur I should only need to do it once in a great while.

Default goGnats = No Gnats
goGnats

I love this stuff. It cost me $20 at the local shop.

I mixed it at 1 oz per gallon (30 ml/gallon) with my nutes. No sign of it really effecting the PH. I did not check the PPM as I was afraid of that number. It does make your water a solid white color.

I only ran it in the flower room for 2 day, but it WORKED! Not a gnat to be seen. And once I changed the nutes I found TONS of dead larva in the bottom of the tray. So, I cleaned them out for the next two days and all looks good. I am sure that my roots love me for it.

I plan on running it again for a week straight at the next res change and kill off any survivors that should end the cycle for some time.

It's main ingredient is Cedar oil, and you can smell it. While it is in the tank our whole room smells like a ceader cabinet, but it does not seem to effect the smell of the plant, but I still would say try to use it with more then 2 weeks left in your cycle.

If you think you have a gnat problem I suggest you use this stuff. "It kills bugs dead."

It's nice to see some people stop by.

I have not worried about flushing yet. And, so far there has been no harshness or any problems. Even right off of the drying line they are sweet and ready to go, and after a week or so of curing they are a little better.

I did try running a 3 day straight water flush and followed up with a weak nutes mix for 4 days then picked some and there was no real difference as far as I can see. I am sure the system would be happier if you flushed it for even just a few days every once in a while to help cut the salt build up.

Take in mind I am only running at around 600 ppm per my digital meter. When I run mine higher it starts to burn them. Maybe it is because I am running smaller plants in the small tubs with small roots..... Small + Small + Small = small.

I will add some update photos thursday night. There is a nice little baby at 10 weeks from 12/12.

600ppms is very low but u show no lack of nutes..that strain must not like much..cause some of swims babys can take up to 2000ppm befor ne burn..that a good thing i guess less cash on nutes..

I am sorry, but no photos today. Not a charged AA in the house.. Sorry. I pulled that plant and I will post some picks of it hanging soon.

I can tell you that I need to do something about mold.mildew/fungus. The sulfur with probably happen this weekend. It is my fault, the basement used to be damp, and I never properly cleaned and sterilized. I am still getting good off, but it seems like all of them show some sign of damage. Mostly on the leaves, but I know it's no good for the plant.

I look at it this way. I am new to this and I am still learning week by week. I just know it still beats spending money on mexi-brick-a-crap! Still much better then what we normally would spend our hard earned cash on. I look at it as a challenge. As I figure out a problem and solve it everything just gets that much better.

I can tell you that I am glad I added the Hygrozyme and the goGnats. I could see damaged roots and I can see where replacement roots had started growing on the one I pulled. So, I expect everything to keep getting better and better.

Thanks for stopping by.
