Hey all. I'm another smoker that has over time gotten the urge to attempt a grow. After spending a couple months on many forums researching, i have finally gotten all the materials needed. I also chose these forums because everyone here seems so helpful.

My goal is a small, personal, cheap grow, and to learn as much as i can for possible future grows. It started with some bagseed of what i believe may be Granddaddy purple, but I'm not positive. I will be doing LST on these plant(s).

The cabinet is about 3 feet tall, 22" wide, and 11" deep. For vegging i am using 5 20 watt cfl's (will have 7 brighter bulbs for flowering) I an currently vegging 4 plants expecting 2 or 3 males. I'm still deciding to grow 1 or 2 plants.

The seeds were put in organic unfertilized soil in party cups, and will be put in fox farm soil when ready, I'm still trying to find square pots (how odd)

8/27 - having a small heat problem (high 80's), my guess is that its because my intake hole is smaller then my exhaust, will try and fix asap. (i will have to find a way to keep too much light from coming out of it, the intake hole is about 2" away from the closet wall, kinda tricky)


8/22 - germinated 4 seeds
8/24 - placed in party cups
8/26 - first sprouts (one of my happiest days in a while)

I opened up the hole more and its still running a bit hot (high 80's), ill be picking up another fan at bestbuy later.

Remember you will need to replace any air you take out. If you use passive intake two times the amount of space. VV

I currently have an 80mm fan at the top that goes into a 90* black pvc elbow as a light trap, and a 70mm sitting next to the intake (its raised off the ground) Here is a picture of what i mean.



What i plan to do is mount that fan on the wall (original plan) and have it blowing along all of the lights and into the exhaust fan, and also strengthen the stems for later LST.




If anyone have ever wondered on how to mount a computer fan on a wall, i found this to be very effective if you are somehow drill-less (mine crapped itself 1/2 way through building)

Heres a simple picture to explain it. I cut up a CD case, and made little feet for the screws, then put that on a larger sheet of cd case. and you can glue it to the wall very easily.



So should i make my intake even bigger? Or should i just buy another fan and put in in there as an intake. The reason i need to do this is because my fans are having to be run at 12v to keep the temps OK, but its a bit loud. I have an adjustable voltage for the fans, and 9-7.5v is much quieter, but it leads to high 80's temps.

looking good. I m no expert or nothing but i think more air would come in if you recess the fan in the intake hole. I dont know maybe not. Good luck with your grow. I will check on it regularly to see the progress.
