I have the a hydrofarm daystar reflector which is air cooled and works well, and have considered a cool tube, but why when you have to reflect the light above the bulb anyway (unless you position it creatively within the garden)... Thats my 2 cents, if I'm wrong though I'd be stoked to take advantage of a more efficient setup so I'm all ears if anyone has input...

Thanks for the input on the hood. I've been leaning towards a hood over a cool tube. Was hoping to hear pros and cons of both.

I'll show you what I'm working with so far..

I have 2 of these. The bulbs are questionable, but I'll be pulling and looking up the numbers from it. It worked well for my first grow.



I also have these 3 fixtures. The 5 bulbs are T12 grow lights, again I need to look them up as they were a gift.



And here we have my 600w ballast and bulb...
