everybody is looking good today. i'm feeling like they could all use a transplant, but i'm going to wait it out a little longer in the current containers and see if any of the others show sex so i can save on having to buy more pots if i can. of course, that is only if i end up with any males. oh, and my $5 fan died last night after only having it for about a month, so i'm a little upset about that cuz i don't know how easy it will be for me to find another one.

ok, so its been a while since i updated. Plants C and D are really getting tall, easily double the height of plants A and B. plant A fell over during the night a couple nights ago and the stem got bent at a basically 90 degree angle. thankfully it didn't break! so, now its just got a little unintentional lst on it. still only the one confirmed female (plant D) but i've spotted some possible preflowers on two of the other plants, so i'm just waiting for them to develop a little more to know for sure. They are a little bit droopy in the pictures but i gave them a good watering and they have all perked back up.

i'm wondering if anybody has noticed if male plants have a different smell than females. i have one plant in particular that doesn't seem to have the same 'pot smell' that my female and the other plants seem to have. it just sort of smells green if that makes sense to anybody. i've already been suspicious of that plant as the preflowers don't look quite right, but they are really way too small for me to tell for sure. i don't have any sort of magnifying glass to inspect them better either. so yeah, if anybody has any insight to the smell thing please fill me in. thanks!

alright, its been like a week since i last put up some pictures. the first is of all 4 together lined up D, C, B, A. the other two pictures are closeup of the smallest plant (B) which i am sad to say i think might be male. i repotted plants C and D as i know one is for sure female and the other one i suspect to be female as well. i'm going out of town for the weekend and couldn't find an available friend to come check on them, so i'm gonna water them good tomorrow before i go and cross my fingers that nothing goes wrong.

ok, so i got home from being away all weekend and first off i could smell the little fuckers before i even got my front door open. lol. my house smelled like a skunk had decided to move in while i was gone. went up to check on them and other than being a little wilty they look fine, but i can't say that they really grew any while i was away. it got wicked cold inside since i didn't leave the heat on as it cost me a fortune to run it all the time. the low temp was 39 degrees in the grow area, so hopefully it doesn't screw them up too badly (three of my fish died, most likely from it getting too cold).

Hey man, for as little $ that you spent they look descent... But, there are some things you could do to really improve them. Firstly, do your plants a favor and put them in bigger pots. They are not gonna get much bigger or be as healthy in those things due to being rootbound. Next, get thoses babies some more light, mine are at 45 days and are 4 feet tall... More light=more bud, save up some cash and get a 250w hps. Finally, 39 degrees is really bad for your plants, keep it warmer in there. If the temps continually drop to low temps like that growth will be impacted in a bad way. I hope some of that helps, I'm not tryin to rag on your setup as I can see cash is an issue, but if you put the money into it you will get it back ten-fold come harvest time. Goodluck!

i do appreciate the feedback, but i wish you would have read through a little more since your missing a few details. i have put the two larger plants into bigger pots, but i was waiting on them to show sex; which excepting one of the smaller ones they all have (4 plants: 2 female, 1 male, 1 unknown). as for the temps, its not likely to drop that low again, since i have to keep my house at at least a temp i can stand to live in (i was away for the weekend and didn't expect it to get that cold while i was gone). the reason why i use cfls is because of space and money constraints and i used them on my last grow so i am comfortable with using them. also, since there will not be 4 plants there will be less competition for light and i also have 2 more cfls that i can add as soon as i can go get another y splitter. i know i probably sound really defensive right now, but everybody has to figure out what works for them and this is what works for me even if it seems less than ideal to many people. growing is something i do for pleasure. i enjoy the process and the prize at the end is just an added bonus.
